now you are picking on my parents. perhaps it was tough on them, what with my father not being their for a few years, flying 26 combat missions as a gunner on a b-24 or b-25, i never remember which, out of new guinea, and my mother having to deal with the likes of me.

i am a self taught prick. i did it on my own.

Rick, New Guinea..??? My Uncle was there... he was the Carpenter on the Island who when they landed and took over the Island because he knew a littlebit about construction and wood the Higher Ups put him in charge of the Saw Mill for the Whole Base!!!! I bet your Father and my Uncle knew each other??? Thats Cool!!!

My Uncle is still alive and kicking and he never used to talk about his War Stories not until about 10 yrs ago or so... he will now...
