Why not fine and suspend in baseball? as they do in basketball, for leaving the bench.

Should baseball review plays, tags, takeout slides, headhunting, like football does for hits?

I can't stand the idea of instant replay in baseball. The human dimension is part of the excitement, lore, and controversy. Things wouldn't be the same without it.

I don't like the idea of mandatory suspensions for leaving the bench. Let's face it: baseball players just stare at each other for awhile, strut around, and go back to the bench. Rarely is a real punch thrown. 'Fights' are a joke in baseball...that's what I like about the sport. Posturing, that's it. So penalties should be reserved for people who violate the rules of posturing.

My two-cents.

Plese never, never allow instant replay in baseball! Part of the fun is arguing over blown calls and the human error of some games! Too damn much technology in sports today.....leave well enough alone!

Thank you for that replay of your post. LOL!

Funny irony!

Football does weekly reviews, then discipline for noncalls during gametime.

I agree with all the posts that say no to instant replay calls. I also disagree with the electronic pitch tracking that was installed at some of the ball parks.

But now when two people such as a player and a coach, that have nothing to do the play "get into it", just seems wrong to me. I'm sure that these people would not clear the bench and waste time if they were to be suspended for the playoffs and World Series.

If I want to watch a battle field I'll watch the news.

Why not get the hell out of the way and get down to playing some good old fashioned baseball ???

What's needed is not a bunch of new 'special rules' ... what's needed is a humongous crying towel for these millionaire crybabies to dry their weeping eyes with and a chance for them to take a short trip back in time to face Drysdale, Gibson or Wynn ...

After that experience, it'd be OK to bring 'em back, a bit shell-shocked perhaps, and send them out to play ...
