Where's the 800 number they want you to call to make a donation to them? Surprised it's not on the bumper sticker.

Tolerance my brothers, all the world needs is a little peace, and tolerance for one another.

Hmmmm....that's funny.

Seems I remember Jesus' whole message being to love and forgive EVERYONE, no matter what.

Not "persecute the ****."

Well God did make Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve...
But I agree with tolerance being the key.

Also, I agree with chuckler. A little tolerance and understanding never hurt anyone.

I don't like the word tolerance. I think those with different feelings, opinions, lifestyles, skin colors, etc., should be *embraced*, not just tolerated. Using the word tolerance just makes it sound like those 'other' people are somehow doing something wrong. just my 2 cents - something that's always kinda bugged me. just an observation - not meant to be directed at previous posters who used the word tolerance. I am with you folks 100%

ajeroth --- how do we know for sure that God created Adam and Eve?

While I believe in a 'higher power' ... I still have a strong belief in evolution. Just to much proof out there ...

interesting, we just had like a 2 week long argument on campus here about that. A&M being one of the less homo friendly schools around....
someone made a good point though....its interesting how the homosexuals wont tolerate the intolerance the gay bashers, to each his own

^ What originalgoat said.

Slim - I'm with you. I believe in a higher power, but I also believe you should interpret the Bible from the standpoint of the people who wrote it: Jews living in Babylon and Judea about 200 yrs and up to the time of Jesus.

They didn't know about science, and plus a lot of the stories in the Bible make a lot more sense and hold a deeper meaning if you interpret them metaphorically. Plusm it doesn't make sense in places if you look at it literally. In the first chapter of Genesis it says God made Man and Woman on the sixth day...then later it says he made Man THEN made Woman later when Man became lonely. Even more damning in one part of Genesis it says Noah loaded the Ark with two of each animal...then in the next chapter it says he loaded it with seven of each clean animal, and two of each unclean animal.

People argue against evolution because it says God created humans. I believe in a looser interpretation than that. We say God created us, even though its obvious our parents did that, why not take that idea a step further. I believe God's was the hand behind the Big Bang, the rise of life on this world, etc. and I don't see why life gradually becoming better, smarter, and fitter isn't a part of His plan.

I hear ya "originalgoat", and I see your point.

I was using the word tolerance, not really meaning to "tolerate", but to accept what is.

To embrace, in my mind would be to approve. Well... whether I approve or not is not really the issue, it is my temperance to the issue that is important...

I may not approve, but I shouldn't judge.

I (we all) should try just to live... and let live.

JMHO...

Some one wrote-"it is interesting to note the homos won't tolerate the gay bashers and such". Gee could it be that the Gay bashers hurt, mame and kill the Gay people. could that be why they are not tolerated much my gay people. I have seen the hurt and intolerance first hand that otherwise "good people" do to gay and lesbian people. I have treated them in the trauma unit (the lucky ones) and have sent to the morgue the unlucky. "Tolerance" goes a long way? How about Acceptance? Some people are just different than others.

Oh and homo's from nambla don't hurt, maim, and kill inoccent little children? But we should be "tolerant" of that. We should "embrace" them and forgive them.
Even in the Bible its says for man to abide by the rule of the land, and that the laws of the land and punishment of the land be upheld. Man/man, woman/woman marriges fall within the laws of the land, as well as hurting, beating and killing of inoccent little children by homos.

Seems that this has been a lively discussion. It seems to me that the people who are sticking to the orthodox belief that homosexuals relationships are wrong and need to be punished are trapped into this thinking, which is totally uncalled for.

Religions and societies have banned this practice, I believe, for the purpose of forging the human race on into the future. Today, however, I don't see the human race dying off anytime soon. A man, a very educated one at that, once proposed a theory to me that the reason Jews don't eat pork is because pigs are of course dirty creatures and often caused worms among other health problems. The thing is that some things need to change. There are Unorthodox Jews that do eat pork.

I'm not going to try to change who these homosexuals are, does no good for me. If anything that's one more guy out of the race for women. I am a heterosexual male who has no unrealistic fear of being around homosexuals. To clarify, as long as I'm not being seriously harassed I have no problem.

I am also Catholic, the church doesn't approve of sexual intercourse between homosexuals, but will not cast them out for simply being homosexual. Sounds like a bunch of b/s to me, but I don't make the laws of the church. According to the laws of the church I believe I could be elected as the next Pontiff, but that's not likely since I'm not a cardinal, or priest for that matter, and they seem to be bias in that regard as well.
