Hey guys, help me out:
I bought a couple of the "torch" butane lighters and am having trouble after the first load of fuel is expired. I fill them again but they act like they have air in them and will not light. I have three that do this. Any help??

While filling ... hold down the 'striker' when filling, upside down, of course, and bleed it. I had the same probelm, and I do this everytime I fill mine. Price dosen't mean anything ... cheap ones are just a good as the ones that cost hundreds, IMHO ... sometimes even better! And if they coninue to fail, you just get a new one ... and you're not out much!

My experience is that the ajusting screw needs adjusting all the time, compared to how much gas is still in. So when you fill it, it'll need some turning before it'll light up again. Needs ajusting all the time.

Sometimes you've just gotta let out that extra trapped air. Feels good and can relieve cramping.

absolutely on the money mr slimboli. that's why i asked the question. a year or so ago they were selling lighters that looked like a short cigar. the lighters had a picture of a cigar band and these went for about $2.00 and were supposed to be refillable. they weren't. i found someone on ebay selling the store display packs of 48 and bought 2 packs for about $.45 each lighter. too cheap to try to refill.

I have a Colibri Quantum and a Volcano lighter, but the two "Torch Jet Lighters" that I bought here at cbid are my old reliables. With just about any refillable torch, you have to screw with the screw to make it work right after you've refilled it. Also, you'll find that you have to wait until the lighter cools down after you fill it in order for it to work. Hope that helps.

I mean "wait until the lighter HEATS UP" NOT "cools down". Time for bed.
