Being a Buckeye fan I wanted to give my twist on the National Championship. The Buckeyes beat Kansas State
which beat Oklahoma which the computers say are number
one -- so Ohio State wins the National Championship.

Michigan showed their worth in a big bowl game -- none.
And USC doesn't count because they won too many games and the computers said they couldn't play in any reindeer games.

Let the computers decide .... LOL

Although we followed different logic paths, it seems you and I have reached the same conclusion, sir.

USC ... National Champs

Until you get a playoff system in place I submit that no National Championship even exists. The current system in place would be like taking the large market NFL teams at the end of the season and having each play one game against one team with one of the games being designated as the "National Championship". The others simply exist to drive revenue into the owners pockets. Once over then sportswriters and coaches around the country then bicker over who really is the "National Champion". This process lasts a few months until the next season starts and you go thru the whole insane process again.

USC, with their cupcake schedule, couldn't hold a candle to either teams who played tonight. The LSU Tigers are the NATIONAL CHAMPS. Though I would like to see USC try and play LSU. LOL They haven't faced a decent defense all year, including the bowl game. LSU and OKLAHOMA have the best defenses in the country. Noone in the PAC10 could touch them. If USC wants a championship, leave the cupcake conference, and play some real competition.

There is a reason Michgan was #4 and USC showed that....plus, there is a VERY big difference between the Wolverines and the Tigers.

Also, the USC hypocracy absolutely kills me! Before the Sugar Bowl, "We'd be happy to share a title with LSU....", then when LSU won, "WE ARE THE REAL CHAMPIONS!!!!"

Couple more things for the logical thinkers:

13-1 vs. 12-1.....check the number of ranked victories, SOS, etc. LOGIC?

LSU DESERVED to be there (and, they showed OU didn't).....so, how are they not part of the #1 equation?....WAIT! Because the HUMAN factor THINKS so!

AND another thing: don't use the K-State deduction.....b/c you would have to look in the mirror and explain the Cal debacle and where USC fits in after you take into account Cal's season. Losing to K-State is FAR more respectable than losing to Cal!

We have two national champs, and I honestly feel that USC could win the match of the two great teams, but in no way would they stomp them as the "newbie" with the hot air predicts!

I would love to see a matchup between the two teams. But alas, that will not happen. All NCAA teams agreed, before the season started to abide by the ruling of the BCS. You can't change your mind at the end of the season. The BCS Champion is LSU, AP Champion is USC. But since the BCS, was recognised as the standard by which the NCAA Champion is chosen, then I Guess that makes LSU, the National Champs. I still would love to see the two teams face off though.

The video game version of USC vs.LSU will be ready in a couple days... I can hardly wait for the outcome. should we let this determine the true championship??

Isn't the BS (i forgot the C intentionally) chumpionship pretty much based on a process that is closer to a video game than a true real life test of supremacy. Its completely absurd. The BS system has failed completely at what it was intended to do and should have been scrapped in early December.

Not to disrespect LSU but they'd be crushed by USC and the writers know that. Coaches pool is not always as astute and now they are forced to bow to the BS system. Perhaps these two teams will meet next year to settle the matter. We can only hope. Until then I'll be waiting for the Video game results.

Do realize LSU fumbled on the 1 yard line, had a feild goal called back, and OU blocked a punt at the 3 yard line.......so, the score could have easily been 31-7!

Fact is, it would be a toss up between USC and LSU. OU is a whole helleva alot better than Michigan. Also, don't forget the freak interception and dropped TD pass by Michigan.

I'll bet your a PAC-10 fan or a Buckeye.

Sonny, you can't second guess a game. By saying it could of easily been 31-7 for LSU is pointless, because it could of easily been tied at 21-21 if White would of made a good throw to the wide open running back in the endzone at the end of the game. Whatever happens in a game happens, and that's how a game is decided. Freak plays, bad calls, dropped passes, dumb penalties, and missed opportunites are all part of the game.

USC and LSU controlled the tempo and flow of the game and thats why they both won. Congrats to both teams.

The only way I could possibly respond to Sonny_LSU since he is such an impartial fan of the Tigers is to consider the following logic.

Here is the logical reason why it really makes sense to root for the USC Trojans over the LSU Tigers.

1) If you are truly a man, then your favorite organ is??....

2) When you wrap that favorite organ with a Trojan what can you expect to be happening soon? (sex)

3) When you wrap that favorite organ with a Tiger what can you expect to be happening soon? (ouch)

4) So would you rather have sex or your favorite organ bit off.

What jgjam said. The fact that college football is the only sport where a team is "voted" National Champion has to be the most idiotic thing in sports today. It is a crime against those kids who put the time and effort into the sport. They deserve the opportunity to earn the championship. Not have it gifted to (or taken away from) them by a group of coaches and sportswriters.

as the newbe mixes it up again,its like all the kid sports today with the their are no loosers, so what do they do they give all the loosers trophy too just like LSU...AND like i said people will pay to see that game.
