Thanks for your interest, I've got a few ideas for art projects and I need lots of cigar bands. Here are a couple of my ideas: a collage of the different bands and either make a type of wrapping paper or even a post card. Another is to take each band and place them on a solid color background, showing off each, as it's own work of art, which they are. Plus other uses as they pop into my head. Please send all types, kinds, and sizes.

I don't really don’t like asking for yours but I've already used all my own bands, I guess I just need to smoke more πŸ™‚

Drop me an e-mail, with the subject line "cigar bands" and I'll send you my address.

Thanks again,

Thomkokenge at hotmail dot com

P.S. If the cigars are still attached to the band, well, that's okay too πŸ˜‰

Thom,
Are you suggesting that people send you there cigar labels just because they have them sitting around or are U willing to trade for them? Just curious!

rck_1,

Yes, I am asking people to send them to me if they would like to without trading. I'm not expecting to make money or anything, just art for the fun of it. However, I would gladly send a s.a.s.e.

I would be glad to help you, but I've embarked on a similar project of my own. I'm taking a band off each type of cigar I smoke, and using a glue stick, fasten it to a scrap piece if spanish cedar I had left over when I lined my coolidor. I have a ways to go, but as I'm involved in several trades, and found some most generous BOTL that are helping me round out my stogeology LOL I'm getting there. After I fill the scrap up, I'm going to laquer it, and start another. I'm thinking of using them to decorste my desk, the outside of my coolidors, or the walls of my computer room.

I started saving bands almost a year ago. I finally decided I would start a little project where I put the bands of cigars that I smoked on momentous occasions in a book and labeled them. Kinda like the life of Ethan told by cigar bands. (every time I do this I see my wife flipping through the yellow pages looking for psychologists....) I have tons left over from not-so-momentous occasions. You can have those if you want (after all, they are still from the life of Ethan - gotta be worth a lot...)

send me your addy - shipping would be like..um...$.37? I think I'll pick this one up...

al'Thor,

Thanks. Yeah, I've got a cigar journal too, where I keep the band. But I just put in each new type of cigar that I try. If I've smoked it before, I usually just throw the band away, until a spark of crativity hit and now I'm looking for more.

my wife got me a cigar journal for the holidays, so first band of each new stick i smoke goes in there along with commentary.

i bought a couple of wooden boxes at a craft store. i'll take the bands not going to the journal, glue stick them onto a box, and when it's covered, i'll laquer or mod-podge over it to preserve it. probably just use the boxes to store odds and ends or postcards, photos, something like that.

any ideas on what else to do with:

a) bands themselves or
b) band-covered boxes?

btw, i got small boxes for a buck up to a trunk (about the size of 4 shoeboxes together) for $6. love to make more of these, but... what to do with them/use them for?
