Don't know if I'm spelling it right, but I went to this Indian restaurant/bar where they have a bunch of hookahs - you know, those ornamental waterbong things? Well you can select from like 10 different flavors of tobacco and I chose Cubana - b/c it described it as the choice for cigar lovers. Holy crap - it was horrible. Has anyone ever tried one of these? I took a hit off my friends who had melon flavored and it wasn't that bad. God knows what they put in those things...

I have one of those things, my sister picked it up for me in Turkey, years ago. Never smoked out of it, except, one time, in band camp.

I have a hookah, but don't care for it. Some of my friends like the strawberry flavor one. Its almost like smoking cotton candy. Its very sweet, and light. Its getting trendy here in Southern Cali to sit sround and drink and smoke a hookah. I rather blaze a cigar.

My daughter and her friends go to one down in Pacific Beach here in San Diego...VERY happening place to be.

She likes the double-mint with a real lemon, fruit-roll up, wet dream (pomegranite), mango...but WTF does she know!

If you want a flavored tobacco...go for flavours by C.A.O. - 'nuff said.

If you want to hang out in a trendy lounge smoking legal leaves from a bong...go to a hookah bar.

There are a few seedy hooka parlors around the way here, but there is supposedly some ultra trendy one in the city (Washington DC) but there, they refer to it as 'shisha'.

My choice of late night establishments happens to be a diner near 2 of these spots, so I am well familiar (pre-cigar days), but there does seem to be a horrid lack of good tobaccos for them.

Ethan,
I have been to one of the upscale flavored tobacco hooka trendy joints, STUPID!!!

I have also been to Morocco, and purchased a very nice hooka, but like arwings said....Hookas are the bottom-feeders of the smoking world.

I would have to disagree that hookahs are the bottom feeders of the pipe world. Just because its your cup of tea doesn't mean you have to place labels like that.

I have smoked a hookah on a few different occasions and am looking into getting one for myself. Its a mellow smoke with a nice fruity flavor (obviously if you get the fruity flavored tobacco) and it has a much more pleasant aroma for those around me then cigars do.

Mr. op,
Ohhh poor hookas around the world. Such a label really really hurts their feelings.
I hope you find a great hooka with some real "fruity" tobacco, and leave me to my opinion.

When the people around me aren't smoking a cigar, and complain about the small....I tell them to f*** off!!!! It helps.
