Since I favor cameroons, I was looking around and found these. Not having tried them yet, I found that CI has a 5 pack for $20 or I found a box for $75.

I am debating a box of H.Upmann Vintage cameroon toro for $79 or the Torano Robusto for $75

I know I like the H.Upmann Vintage Cameroon, so I guess I was hoping someone had tried them both and could give me a general comparison.

Thanks.

0Patience,

You can't go wrong with Torano. I have smoked alot of cameroon wrapped cigars, and besides A.Fuentes, you can't get a better cigar than the 1916 Toranos. I like them much better than the H.Upmans. But that's just my taste.

The 1916 is one of the best of the Torano line IMHO. Gorgeous cigar and a great smoke.

Have not had the Upmann, but I'm trying to see if anyone can trade me 2 or 3 to try.

As for the 1916? They are excellent!

i've only had one upmann cigar, and i did love it. but i can't even imagine a better cammie than the 1916.

Thank you everyone, You helped me alot.

I will order a 5 pack of the Torano and see how I like it. More than likely, I will end up with a box. 🙂

Can't comment on the Upmanns...Really like the 1916s; IMHO as good as you are going to get to a Don Carlos. A hands down no brainer given the price. Good complexity and strength right off the shelf, but need to nap a spell as I feel all smokes should.

the 1916's are my current favorite, awesome cigar, won this on cbid last night at an awesome price:

Heavyweight Contenders Sampler Round 2: Clash of the Cameroons

5 1916's and 5 Cameroons Perdomo 2.

I know I can't go wrong with the 1916's but would like opinions on the Perdome 2 Cammie's if anyone would like to share!

osuride,

The perdomos are great, in my opinion.

I liked the Flor de Oliva Grand Cameroons better though, but that is me. 😉

I saw the price that the heavyweight auction went for, killer deal and you can't go wrong.

Rasdas, was there somewhere in particular you'd like to e-mail that had a great sale? 😉

Thanks.

Thanks RasDas,

I knew you were way too nice to horde them all to yourself. LOL!

If I'm not careful, I will get Cameroonitis. LOL!

Don't know what it is about the Cameroons, but I just can't seem to get enough of them. LOL!

Just read above. Everyone is pretty much right on the money. You can't beat the Torano Line, but the 1916 is one of their best. My GF likes the 1916 better than the Tributes, another Great Torano!!! Not to mention any of their others like the Silver or 1959.

And the Heavyweight Contenders Sampler Round 2: Clash of the Cameroons is one of the best buys on CBid. Not many knew about this till it was posted above, but I have won a few different lots of these and shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, heheheeeeeee!

KNOF - Do you know what size the cigars are in the Heavyweight Sampler Round 2? It does not mention the size in the description.

Does it really matter? Heheheheeeeee!

The Torano 1916 is a GREAT CIGAR no matter what size. LOL!

Well if you must know, the Heavyweight is a Robusto size of 5.5 x 52 . . . YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Thanks KNOF - received my heavyweight sampler the other day, what a heck of a deal. Smoked the Perdomo 2 Cameroon yesterday and was very surprised at how good it was. It burned evenly, draw was good for a box pressed, and the flavor was outstanding, just imagine what some nap time will do. I still favor the 1916's if I had to pick from these two. Don't get me wrong, the Perdomo 2 is a good smoke also. Just wanted to share this with my BOTL's.

I favor Cammies, but I think I like the 1959 Exodus Gold and the Tribute, and MAYBE the Signature over the 1916. They are all REALLY good!
