Anyone had surgery to repair one of these? How long was your recovery. I blew out my right side lifting and now I have to have it fixed. Just wondering how long before I will be up and about.

Each case is different. # of tears, size of tears, etc. I was back to work a week after my surgery, and doing physical stuff about 2 weeks afterwards. Now, I've also seen guys take 5 to 6 weeks off to recover, although I think that's more of a work avoidance issue.

first one was in 1948 and it was good until 1966.

now they line the area with an inorganic mesh. it prevents future problems and it helps keep the flies out.

you will probably be out of the hospital in a few days at most.

i believe they are doing these using a laparoscopic now.
