Since the global whaling ban was adopted in 1985, Japan has used a loophole in international laws to kill whales under the guise of "scientific research." Magnificent Bryde’s whales and endangered sperm whales are being slaughtered and sold in gourmet markets and expensive restaurants. The International Whaling Commission has repeatedly called on Japan to stop this slaughter. Instead, Japan expanded the hunt to kill Bryde’s whales and endangered sperm whales! Worse still, Japan has been bribing developing countries to join the International Whaling Commission and vote to overturn the whaling ban entirely!
The President can impose economic sanctions immediately on Japan because of its whaling hunts. Help save these endangered species by urging President Bush to impose economic sanctions on Japan until they stop killing whales! Sign our petition to President Bush.

A few years ago, I found a great bumper sticker:

More people honked at me at red lights, asking where I got the bumper sticker.

65GTOman and I agree on this one. I don't like them stealing my whales....just so they can establish and reaffirm their position in their little society by eating endangered species. Reminds me of the Chinese and the white rhino horn story. I am all for natural de-selection, but this just ain't natural. My opinion, for what it is worth.

I hear India is doing a similar patition. It is called "Save the cows" and will outlay the killing of cows for food.

I didn't realize cows were endangered?? I see plenty of them outside my door here in Wisconsin.

As do I. But to them cows a sacred. It doesn't matter if they are endangered or not. So they pass laws to push their beliefs on us.
