I saw that movie several years ago.
Very graphic depiction of the most heinous of events that took place.

But I don't recall leaving the theater hating the Germans, nor wanting to invoke some sort of revenge for their dastardly deeds.

Why, then, the current fervor over Gibson's new movie?

Are past indescretions a sound reason to treat Jewish people as if they're incapable of surviving a controversial subject?

We give far too little respect to a group who has survived the most devasting act against humanity in history.

Let's save the Anti-Semite tags for those people and actions and things that deserve it. Otherwise we'll desensitize the public on just how dangerous those emotions can be.

I have a close friend who is Jewish and a survivor of Aushwisch. He spoke to me about Gibson's movie and simply stated that it is not possible to recreate what really took place during this time. He said the true attrocities that took place people would simply not watch. He lost his entire family and was rescued the day he was to be gassed. (They knew all too well what was in store for them.)His native country of Poland lost 38% of its entire population. When he was rescued he weighed 63lbs and is 5'8" tall. He is the strongest man of character I have ever met. "You shall keep the company of angels." Truly, I think he is one.
