You can only pick one brand of cigar

Without a doubt......Padron!

Fuente would take a close second....and has tons more cigars in their lines, but Padron is unbeatable!

Without any hesitation Carlos Toraño! Do I also get the other brands they make? Gurkha, the best of CAO, La Perla Habana.....

It would probably be CAO with AF being a close second. I like so many of the CAOs, not sure that I like many of the AFs but I love the SGS. Perdomo would be just under those too probably. Bucs are too expensive to be my only gar.

hmm... now that I think of it oliva would be up there too, have a nice range from budget to premium and at least the maddies are tasty in all ranges.

Fuente - Anejos, Opus, hemingways, chateaus, Cuban belicosos, and 858's

The Fuente line is available in maduro, natural, sungrown.

So much variety and that's without going to the other lines made by Fuente.

WHERE IN THE F*** ARE THE BUC SUPPORTERS?? I used to say CAO, and they are good. And Fuente (of course) but they're a bit pricey... The damn bucs, say what you will (and I have) but the full sail? Z? Salsa? Classico maddie? They are right up there.

Well, I'd have to say Fuente, but Torano runs a close second.

RIGHT NOW... I'd have to say El RICO HABANO TORPEDO w/ MADURO WRAPPER (another great EL CREDITO CIGAR)... Of course I am BIASED because I just enjoyed one 5 minutes ago... I am surprised I can still type... OF COURSE WHEN THE BUZZ GOES AWAY I's have to say Padron followed by Perdomo Brands... It's funny though most of the brands being mentioned on this post are made in NICARAGUA... Is NICARAGUA the NO.2 BEST COUNTRY FOR TOBACCO BEHIND BEAUTIFUL CUBA??? I leave it up to your OPINION... HEY BY THE WAY, a big smoke going out to BASSDUDE, XIBBUMBERO, and CAVALLO... Hope you'all enjoyed the smokes I know I am...

My choice would be Padron with CAO in second. Padron wins for quality at an affordable price, while CAO comes close due to affordability.

thschrminm- Is NICARAGUA the NO.2 BEST COUNTRY FOR TOBACCO BEHIND BEAUTIFUL CUBA???

I've had my share of ISOMs, and as much as I like RyJ's, Boli's, Monte's, Upmanns, and La Piedras, I really have to commit the ultimate heresy and say... Cubans are NOT all that! I have found ISOMs that I love, and some I couldn't stand, just like other countries cigars! Is a cigar from Cuba you don't like better than your favorite Nicaraguan? I like the Carlos Toraño 1959 Exodus Gold better than any ISOM I've ever smoked! Most people who have experience with ISOMs know to keep them at 60-65% RH, because at 70% they sometimes tend to draw hard, or even block. Carlos Toraño left Cuba when Castro nationalized his families 24 tobacco farms and two factories. As did some of the best cigar making talent in the country! I have yet to have draw problems with a CT cigar, although I have read on here about a few people who have. It's the exception to the rule in Nicaraguan cigars, and Dominicans where it's a common problem in ISOMs. I think the primary attraction to ISOMs is the unavailability of them in this country.

Just my .02 worth!

"[C]ommit the ultimate heresy and say... Cubans are NOT the [ultimate]"

Maybe to some that's heretical, but I think you've pegged it

What does Cuba possibly have that's unique? Soil & climate

With seeds, master growers-blenders-rollers, I suspect it's possible to make an original Cuban style elsewhere with comparable soils & micro-climates

I haven't had my share of ISOMs -- & don't know if I'm missing out, but frankly [as with wine & distilled spirits] variety is the blessing
