Gentlemen,

We were advised that they are currently on route. They were scheduled to arrive last week but for some reason it has been delayed. We have spoken to our blender and mfg and they are close to arrival. They will end up at the warehouse in GA then head down to us in FLA. We're very excited and do appreciate your anticipation aswell. If anyone has any questions, comments and/or concerns, please send me an email as I will be more than happy to answer.

Thanks.

Jim

Hi Jim. Thanks for the update.

Do you have a website?

Anthony,

At the moment we do not have a website because we're strictly a wholesale distributor. We only provide retailers and other distribution channels with their products.

Regards,

Jim

There is no reason to not have a website. After all, dealers and distributors need to be able to find you, too.

It sounds to me like you guys are just a little disorganized. 🙂

Russel,

I don't understand how not having a website gives you the opinion or impression that we are disorganized???

That's a very strange comment to make. The cigar industry is a very small industry. Everyone knows everyone. Thanks for your concern though.

Easy.

How many means of communicating are there, today? They involve mail, 3rd party package companies, the telephone, and electronic methods. Your reasoning for not having a website is very suspect.

A website, a very inexpensive medium, provides the chance to provide information to your target market just as sending out pamphlets and making visits to your potential buyers. The nice thing about a website is that it runs 24 hours a day (unlike the rest of the company) and it available to potential clients all of the time whether you are able to answer the phone or not.

I am guessing, since you don't have a website, you problably don't have a professional flyer/fact sheet that you can send to your potential buyers or leave with them as part of a sales call.

How could you not want to leaverage all the potential marketing methods available to you unless you are not organized or are working on a very small shoe string budget.

As you said, in this industry, everyone knows everyone. If you show that you are not professional, that word will get around, too.

Am I concerned? Hell no. I am just making a statement of opinion that I believe is valid.

Russell,

I thank you for your lengthy post. Since you've taken a great deal of time to express yourself regarding us not having a website, I will ask upper management to discuss your concern at the next board meeting. 🙂

There you go Russell.

Now you're definitely not getting free cigars--but at least you got a smiley face...

LOL - I have cigars. I am just getting a kick out of this company. They don't really seem to know what is going on with their own program and can't tell you guys much about when you will see your freebies for testing.

Now, if I ran the company (not likely), I would have waited until I had stock on hand before I even looked for taste testers. I sure wouldn't create a buzz that I was not ready to respond to and was not able to support.

I also don't do business with firms that don't have their act together.

So, does Perdomo have a website?

How about Torano?

How about CAO?

How about Fuente?

Of course they do. They are professional organizations.

I still remember when I worked for Coors and the people there would say, "We are a beer company, not a technology company." Of course they were ignorant of the fact that computers run most of the brewing process. They didn't want to do a website for the longest time because they didn't feel it was appropriate to advertise beer over the Internet. Yet, they have realized it isn't about the beer as much as it is about the company and the good things that the company does and information about processes and how others can contact the company.

Big Dog needs to realize that if they are going to be organized and are going to be perceived as a quality Cigar company, they need to act like one.

If you want to run with the big dogs, you need to be able to drink from the toilet, too.

Why is this taking up space on CBid's boards?

Are they going to sell Big Dog Cigars?

Would you smoke a cigar called Big Dog?

After Lone Wolf, Bad Frog...uh, I can say I won't! Even IF they're free!
