Interesting read.

The republicans are no more fascists than democrats are socialist. It is crap like this that sparks illogical hatred between the parties and stops the democratic process. The democrats aren’t evil and the republicans aren’t evil. They just have opposing views on some things. Really, I think that most people would be shocked on how similar the two parties are in their platforms.

I don't necessarily buy into articles such as this. My main bone of contention is the amount of credibility the references used have.

I'll use DMV as an example. He jams his political opinions down the opposition's throat using "smoke and mirrors". These "smoke and mirrors" are the countless articles written by severely biased sources trying to further their cause.

I don't care how many sources one may quote. If these sources are loaded with cr@p, then what weight do they really have? NONE!
This goes for the left AND the right.

Unless it is an objectively thought out/unbiased argument, I won't even waste my time........and, don't ask me what my time is worth!

I don't give much credence to pieces like this whether they're from the left or the right. There are those on both sides who want to polarize public opinion and divide the nation to further their own social and political agendas. They are only successful in dividing us.

This polarization has only increased in the wake of 9/11. Wasn't that tragedy enough to show us there are plenty of people OUTSIDE America who want to divide us?

I have to echo Sonny's opinion on this one, because credibility of sources and "Fair and Balanced" (chuckle) are more important than an Al Franken, Michael Moore(both from the extremist left) or Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh from the far right view!

I like Hannity, just know that he is a little too far to the right. Cannot stand Michael Moore since his "movies" are based on facts and real events about as much as the Wizard of Oz is a true story!

I believe this new "Air America" is a fine example of those who want to divide us further and I am sure the off air time is coming since nobody is listening to these self serving left wing nuts!

I've been discussing the 14 points raised on this site with many friends how each U.S. President could be accused of committing (not particularly GW, but all recent presidents starting with Nixon) each of the points raised. And how each president could be accused of being more facsist than another. What we seem to be concluding is, how far will they go on each point, and that we may be living in a more facsist state now.

Thom, here's some food for thought for you, what do you think should have been done after 9/11? before 9/11? now? What would you have the administration do if you feel they are fascist? How would you rather see them respond? Do you support Senator Kerry's statement that for his first 100 days in office he would fly around the world on airforce1 and beg forgiveness/apologize to the likes of France and Germany for our unilateral actions? Finally, what are your thoughts on the Clinton/Gore wars?

Thanks for your prompt responses (LOL! yeah it will be a cold day...)

Oh and one more thing, you might want to learn how to spell the word if you're going to hurl it as an invective you prepuce! It’s fascism, not facsim…

I agree that the site posted goes over board with it's left-wing ideals. However the 14 points given are valid. what I think this shows is how those fascit characteristics could be applied to the current administration.

The main element we need is balance
Air Amarica may seem pretty radical to the Neo-Cons but it does balance the extreme right wing stuff coming from Rush, Sean and others.

Key is to listen to both sides.. plus a lot of other sources and then make up your own mind. That is true freedom !! Those of you getting your info from just right wing or just left wing sources end up becoming victims of propaganda and captives of one point of view.

Quite frankly, I listen to a lot of talk radio
On the left I enjoy Franken, Randi Rhodes and a local Seattle gal, Erin Hart. But I also enjoy listening to Rush, Neil Bortz, Laura Ingraham and Mike Medved. And I can enjoy both the lefties and the righties without necessarily agreeing with them.

By listening to both sides, I establish a political freedom in my own political decisions. This allows me to break from the captivity of propaganda which binds folks to one side of the political spectrum or the other.

THINK FOR YOURSELF......

Robby,

Got me on the spelling.

"...what do you think should have been done after 9/11? before 9/11? now?"

How about using the "I" in FBI and CIA.

"What would you have the administration do if you feel they are fascist?"

I don't feel that the administration is fascist. I never said such a thing. As this site shows, some of their actions could be seen as such.

"How would you rather see them respond?"

Um, not do things that look fascist, I guess.

"Do you support Senator Kerry's statement that for his first 100 days in office he would fly around the world on airforce1 and beg forgiveness/apologize to the likes of France and Germany for our unilateral actions?"

What kind of a question is that? What does that have to do with fascism?

"Finally, what are your thoughts on the Clinton/Gore wars?"

I don't remember this. Did they go to war with each other?

I am not accusing anyone of being fascist (got it right that time 😛 )I merely post this as a way of taking a longer look at what's going on in our country and how actions could be interpreted.
