This question is for those who plan on supporting Kerry in the election (not for those who support Bush, but I'm sure you all will chime in anyway).

Is it that you really think Kerry is good for the country or is it that you despise Bush to the point that you would vote for anyone as long as it's not him??

But don't you think 20-30 percent of Bush voters in 2000 really had other preferences but their moral convictions along with heavy doses of right wing biased talk shows and clergy basically got them to vote for Bush purely on the grounds that they learned to hate Clinton... Heck you still see this attitude very pervasive on this board.

Some of Kerry's supporters are much more extreme on than left than I would ever be and really are pretty much ABB voters.

Then you have the Naderites who have fallen completely off the deep end and in essence support Bush without realizing it. (I call them the Moronic Idiots for Nader's Dumbass Little Egomaniac Stupid Suggestions.... AKA M.I.N.D.L.E.S.S)

Personally, I have avidly supported Kerry, devoted hours of my time and hundreds of my hard earned dollars to his campaign since the end of last year... I think he has many major strong points.
* War experience, understands the common soldier
* Environmental awareness
* Economic expertise that emphasizes prosperity for both businesses and consumers.
* Strong support of revamping a health care system that promotes health of all and not profits for a few.
* Presidential stature and presence (uses Botox more effectively than any other canddidate .... hehehe)
* Scientifically astute
* Shows compassion and caring and a true sense of conviction.

I know I'll get several disagreements quotes and links to sites which smear and lie about this guy unmercifully. The degree to which over 100 million dollars have been spent to deceive and lie about Kerry is amazing. And the degree to which this stuff has absolutely brainwashed and blinded millions to facts and truth is unprecedented.

Swift Boat Vets Accuse Kerry of Vietnam Photo Fraud

Eleven out of a group of nineteen Vietnam swift boat veterans pictured in Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign literature demanded on Monday that he stop misrepresenting them as supporters.

"Many of us don't want to be included in that picture because we have a rather unsavory feeling about this fellow," Kerry swift boatmate Bob Elder told nationally syndicated radio host Linda Chavez.

Citing the top Democrat's anti-war activities after he returned from Vietnam, Elder told Chavez, "We regard the fact that he rallied the American public against his fellow comrades in arms as basically a betrayal of all of us."

Swift boat veteran Bill Shumadine, who's also pictured in the campaign literature, told the Liberty Broadcasting host that he didn't want to be associated with Kerry in any way, calling his conduct after the war "very offensive."

"Having my picture there it appears that I somehow support his cause," Shumadine explained, adding, "It's not something that I'm proud to be associated with."

Elder, Shumadine and nine others have banded together in a group they call "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth," which includes more than 220 Vietnam veterans who served in Kerry's unit.

Of the remaining six veterans pictured in the photograph, "one is deceased and three do not wish to be involved in any manner; only two of the 19 are believed to support Kerry," the group said in a Monday press release.

"His use of a photograph with his 18 comrades with knowledge that 12 of them condemn him . . . is a complete misrepresentation to the public and a total fraud," Shumadine added.

Elder told Chavez that the group of twelve included not only Kerry's boat mates, but two of his superior officers who joined in condemning Democratic presidential candidate.

He noted also that at a press conference Friday in Washington, the group was joined by Jim Zumwalt, son of the late Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, former chief of naval operations during the Vietnam war.

"Even Jim Zumwalt, on his father's behalf, joined us in condemning the activities of John, saying they do not make this man a fit candidate for Commander in Chief," Elder told Chavez.

In an open letter to Kerry included with the press release, the group said, "We did not give permission for you to use a photo including our image, nor do we support you. . . We join our fellow Swiftees who believe that someone who heaped scorn and lies on his own unit for his personal political gain is not fit to be Commander in Chief."

Keep in mind, many undecideds may be reading this.

The Swiftvets story has been circulating since May 4. DrMaddVibe has cited you the website of the organization. Further Google searches could locate numerous articles about it, such as NewsMax. This Google search might be more useful than simply screaming "Nazi!" The basics of the issue is Kerry has been running around using an old Vietnam photo in his campaign literature picturing 19 fellow swift boat commanders. The majority of those in the photo are against Kerry. Those against John Kerry would like them to stop using their photo.

By the way, in your first post you mentioned that Kerry understands the common soldier. By "common soldier", were you referring to the North Vietnamese Army or the Viet Cong?

i believe the underlying truth is that when someone wants to be in charge of anything from pta chairman to president of the usa, he or she does so because of ego.
"i can do this better then anyone" must float through their brain. it may or may not be true when he or she gets the job, but the person will still believe he or she is doing the right thing.

i believe most people vote for the one they think will do the least harm and hopefully the most good, except in the case of little w, whose followers are drawn to this nincompop because of the propaganda. the pictures of him in front of something round, giving him a halo affect. the picture of him at mt rushmore that makes it appear as if he is part of the mountain. he is sold to america better than soap, beer, or cigarettes were.

if the country can care who is the winning survivor or who is the american idol, then selling little w is not really that difficult.

i hope kerry wins. for me personally i would vote for a chicken to get little w out and avoid any more damage his puppet masters can and will do.
