How do know you are a winning bidder if others are listed as having the same amount as yourself?

Simple. If there's multiple items for bid, you are just one of the winning bidders.

last man/men standing when the auction closes pay the $$ and get the smokes ... plus, they send an email notification

You'll know you won the bid when you get a box of matches in the mail...or the DHL...
