01/10/2005 10:26:30 EST CBS Fires 4 Execs Over Bush Guard Memo

"NEW YORK - Four CBS executives were fired Monday following the release of an independent investigation into a "60 Minutes Wednesday" story about President Bush's military service that relied on forged documents.
The network fired Mary Mapes, producer of the report; Josh Howard, executive producer of "60 Minutes Wednesday" and his top deputy Mary Murphy; and senior vice president Betsy West."

Can little danny blather be far behind?

JonR

Naa... They'll allow him to retire (Dis)Honorably....

maybe he can then get skits on Saturday Night Live??? or MTV LOL

Hog

Or a seat next to jimmy carter and michael moore at the next democrat convention

I guess this "commission" found no plausible evidence that CBS acted with bias toward the Democrats although they did find that there was contact between the producer of the piece and the Kerry campaign. No wrong doing was found and no agenda was apparent. Ya right.

No bias, no agenda.

And Michael Moore should pose for the cover of Playgirl.

Danny Rather will step down in March. His dream of going out on top and being the "Walter Cronkite" of his era are dashed by this scandal. He will always be remembered as being the guy who tried to hang the President with falsified documents. I watched Walter Cronkite and I never ever remember him having to apologize for reporting a story. I never ever remember him having an agenda other than to report the NEWS to a nation accurately.

Where have all the Cronkites gone?

I don't know, but soon old Danny Boy will be 'Blowin' in the wind'

Danny Boy has always been a tool for the liberal left! Why should anyone expect him to do anything honorably.........Bye Danny Boy, Bye!

Maybe the CBS executives will move Dennis Miller into the anchor to liven things up a little and add some fair and balanced news for a change on CBS!!!!!!!
