Slim. What does horse racing have to do with lighters? A trifecta?
I've had many lighters. My favorite was a Prometheus. Unfortunately it just stopped working. I'm back to using an old Colibri and some cheapies.
Lava Fuel (quintuple refined) is the way to go. I could see a difference in the flame immediately when I changed from Colibri fuel to Lava.

Mike.......what it boils down to is what the individual likes best. Some like their fancy lighters that come with a price tag and those who like their BIC's. There are those who prefer matches. I use all of them. The main thing is that you get what does you best. Just remember.........when the wife ask how much that fancy lighter costed you tell her that it came with the cigars as a bonus. Trust me........it will save a marriage especially if your wife is money conscience. This hobby is like most, it can be expensive or moderate depending on your taste.

I'd suggest you buy a few cheap torches. They are reliable, and when they crap out, you can toss them without having to deal with the BS of Colibri's "Customer Service" --which SUCKS by the way.

Out of the expensive lighters, nothing beats a Trifecta, but don't EVER drop it. The mechanisms inside are extremely fragile. (*which is why I suggest the cheap torches, they're durable and you can beat the **** out of them.)

As far as fuel goes, use ONLY Colibri for ALL your lighters. Vector SUCKS!! It has killed my Volcano lighter (which I loved) and has clogged up many of my other lighters. "Triple-refined" my ass! NEVER use Ronsol. You might as well use water. Ronsol sucks even worse than Vector.

Hope that helped.

I have all types of lightser and in my opinion the best light is going to your local store and buying kitchen matches.Keep it simple my friend.

For my money you can't beat the pioneer torch lighter ($4). I have one that has worked for over a year and has a huge tank that only requires me refilling it every couple of months. You can find them on auction sites and local gas stores - buy as many as you can. They rock!

Usual disclamer here.

Yeah I guess if you pour the lighter fluid on the cigar.
