Pentagon reveals rejected chemical weapons

THE Pentagon considered developing a host of non-lethal chemical weapons that would disrupt discipline and morale among enemy troops, newly declassified documents reveal.

Most bizarre among the plans was one for the development of an "aphrodisiac" chemical weapon that would make enemy soldiers sexually irresistible to each other. Provoking widespread homosexual behaviour among troops would cause a "distasteful but completely non-lethal" blow to morale, the proposal says.

Other ideas included chemical weapons that attract swarms of enraged wasps or angry rats to troop positions, making them uninhabitable. Another was to develop a chemical that caused "severe and lasting halitosis", making it easy to identify guerrillas trying to blend in with civilians. There was also the idea of making troops' skin unbearably sensitive to sunlight.

The proposals, from the US Air Force Wright Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio, date from 1994. The lab sought Pentagon funding for research into what it called "harassing, annoying and 'bad guy'-identifying chemicals". The plans have been posted online by the Sunshine Project, an organisation that exposes research into chemical and biological weapons.

Spokesman Edward Hammond says it was not known if the proposed $7.5 million, six-year research plan was ever pursued.

They don't need your sympathy or support. My black pals are smart dudes. I work for black guys, and some work for me. Most laugh at white guys who are obsessed with "equality". We are not all equal; we enjoy differences in our skin color, our abilities, our strengths and our weaknesses. We tell jokes because we are comfortable and confident in who we are. The only differnece is that us "crackers" are so boring that it is hard to come up with good jokes about us. They are better dancers than I am, and I know the lyrics to most Johnny Cash songs. Instead of an uncomfortable forced tolerane towards each other, we have true friendship. Bigotry is not exemplified by words, but by actions. It is interesting that you so easily cast a humorous reply to your disgusting post as bigoted.

the jefferson remark followed BLISTER's innuendo about clinton. i didn't think his remark was a thread jcak so i just responded to it.

i got the original wording from the projects in new york in the late 30's and when i grew up a little, i realized it was not just politically incorrect, it was down right disgusting and it was reinforced in 1956 during a trip to the south with some of my gi buddies and we never got further south then dc.

i should have known there was something going on when i reported to mcguire afb in 1956, when the commanding officer checked me in instead of some supply sargent. the barracks had 2 man rooms and when the co asked me if i didn't mind rooming with a "colored" man. my response "depends what color, sir" i even sird the bigoted sob, was the beginning of my stateside article 15's, not for that remark, but far any sign of insubordination i showed. i wear my article 15's with pride.

when we were in dc in the late 70's or early 80's, we took the subway to "the forbidden zone." we didn't know it was "the forbidden zone" we were going to frocery stores to get devil dogs that we couldn't get in california to take back on the plane. we didn't know it was "the forbidden zone" until we got back and was told by some of the stupid people we met told us.
it didn't look that forbidden to me nor did the gypsy cab seem as threatening as we were told it was.
