The accident on the 15 freeway this morning with the fatality was a 3 year old boy. No car seat, no seat belt...

That burns me up, every time I see it. Parents... it is YOUR responsibility to protect your children. At that age, they depend on you to make the right decisions for them. Too bad the little boy had to die, for his mother to come to grips with that now.

Agreed. Very sad.

I see that crap all the time here. I actually get very upset everytime I see it. Those kids don't have a chance in an accident. They're dead, it's not their fault, and there's nothing they could do about it. Those parents should be prosecuted.

3 year old!!!!!!! The parent is responsible for that. I have a 2 year old and I would never think about not buckling her in. If she learned to take it off I would find a way to buckle her in again. Thats a shame that this had to happen for the parent to realize the error of their way.

Taht is sad Macs... the saddest thing is I see these type folks driving every day around here.. kids standing up in the front seat, back seat hanging out the windows etc...

I've also seen Cops.. knowing it's against the law, just look the other way as to not want to hassle with writing tickets???

laws also forbid a common citizen like myself or others to go over and yank the door open on their cars and slap some sense into their heads... as I've thought about doing many times...

I couldn't imagine any situation where I wouldn't buckle my sweet little grandbaby girl into her high-$$ baby bucket.

I know what Hog says. I see these idiots driving around my area with the kid standing between them on the front seat, all pre-staged to shoot out the front window like a missle.

One of the children who attends the same babysitter as my daughter rides home every day on his mother's lap. She is some kind of crazy B@#tch who wont put him in a car seat because he doesn't "like it". I wanted to call the cops on the jerk, but my wife told me to mind my business.

Call Child Protective Services. You may save his life.

When a person is creating a dangerous situation on a public road, it has officially become "your business".

That is sick. How could a "parent/adult" be so irresponsible? My son is 9 years old and I would never ever think of letting him ride, even down the street w/o his seat belt on. The only people I feel bad for in this situation is the little boy, his twin, and the rest of the family that have to suffer. Not the parents. I hope they live w/the guilt of causing their sons death, for the rest of their lives.

As a former firefigter and police officer I can honestly say that I couldn't care less if people used seatbelts or not (sorry if it sounds cold, but it's the truth). Those who didn't were ALWAYS in much worse shape, but I really didn't care about them. It's their choice and I fully support their freedom to be as stupid as they want.

Not buckling children in though is a VERY different thing. Not much on the road gets to me as much as seeing children not properly buckled down. Very sad thing.

This is an enfuriating subject!

Andy. It is YOUR civic duty to protect that child. Call Child Protective Services. If anything happens to that kid and you have any conscience, you're never gonna' be able to sleep again.
