Fantasy Football Withdraws

You Fantasy Football nuts know what I’m talking about. Every weekday during the regular season you research players, check injury reports, check stadium weather conditions, watch Sportscenter, trade players, waive players, etc, etc. Sunday morning you log on, check the injury reports and make those last minute roster changes. Then you settle down to watch football. Every game is exciting because someone from your team or your opponents’ team is playing. You only go to the restroom during commercials and it never fails. Midstream you hear the NFL Gameday update music “Du-du-day – du-dau-daaa”. Oh my gosh, shake it fast and dribble down your leg running back to the TV to watch the highlights and scores from the games not aired in your city!!! -- Javon Walker scored in Green Bay!! Ladanian Tomlinson scored in San Diego!! -- Yea Baby!! That’s what I’m talking about!!

In the meantime you have to explain to the wife why you are checking stats every spare minute of any day and the only thing the winner receives is ‘Bragging Rights’ for a year! (Not to mention she scolds you for the pee dribble in the restroom!)

Then one Monday in December the Fantasy Season comes to a stop. I’m talking no gradual slowdown but an abrupt stop because you were doing some really heavy research the week before Championship Sunday!! Now all this free time on your hands!! Then what do you do?

You say visit Cigarbid and buy cigars.?.? Ok, did that and now the cooler is full. After the arrivals last Tuesday I have storage issues and will be shopping for another cooler. Now there will be more arrivals next Tuesday!

Ok what else to do? It’s not fishing weather since the ice is melting and unsafe. How about going through with that cigar contest I’ve been meaning to host. Yea that’s it! What to call it? ‘Fantasy Football Withdraws Cigar Contest’ or ‘Sunday Shake it & Dribble Cigar Contest’! Better make it the first.

For the winner – some old premium & super premium cigars from my humidors, a cigar box clock I made and whatever else I find around here.

Here’s a little background of my team and then I’ll lay out the rules. I played in only one league this year and it was in the Yahoo Salary Cap Football. My team won first place (there’s a first time for everything) in our local group and finished in the 99th percentile of the Leaders group, Fans of Kansas and Fans of Dallas. Fairly respectable you might say - Especially since I never had Peyton Manning on my team!!

Rules - All you have to do is correctly guess my teams’ total points for the year and what place in the ‘Fans of Dallas’ group my team finished. Three guesses per day - per person in each category. I will chime in occasionally to let you know if you are getting “hot”, “warm” or “cold”. When either number is correctly guessed I will let you know. (With the Yahoo scoring system my total points ended with a fractional number. So I’m using the first four numbers that are posted on Yahoo. For example 2222.88 The answer will be 2222 even though the whole number is closer to 2223.)

Hint #1 – Total points are somewhere between 1000 & 2000.

The categories are TOTAL POINTS and PLACE in Fans of Dallas goup. Now lets git er’ done and have some fun!
