went back to the drs today to get the three hour testing done for the gestational diabetes - whew what a long haul. Soon as I got there they grabbed a finger and checked my blood then I had to drink that really sweet orange soda tasting crud that I had to drink last week and then go back in the waiting room for an hr - then they grabbed another finger and did a test which came out 130 which was fine - then they told me to go back out and come back in an hr - so then they grabbed another finger and took the test again - this time 152 which was higher but still fine they then said the third and final test was the more important one and sent me back to the waiting room for another hr - you see the pattern here lol - so I go back for the final test - and they grab another finger - my poor poor fingers 😞 and this one was 120 so I'm in the clear 🙂 Just wanted to update those that are interested God Bless!

Liz,

I had to do this all three times I was pregnant. I had the 8 hour test. That orange stuff is disgusting. I threw my guts up the whole time. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes each time. My first pregnancy, I had a quack. The last two I spent 8 months each in the hospital. Along with that I had preecclampsia(toxemia), I was anemic, had high blood pressure and I also developed mitral valve prolapse. After the first baby, the doctor advised me to never ever have another one. Everything went away except for the mitral valve prolapse so I feel it was all worth it. Trials make you stronger and when this baby is born it will be all worth it. That first cry will erase all the test you ever had to go through. Even the pain of child birth. So, hang in there and Thank God every day for a healthy baby. You will be in my prayers.

Good news! Glad to hear it.

My outlook is not as good... i'm fine right now, but my mom takes shots and my dad takes pills for diabetes.

I'm screwed.
