.......................................................... A TRADE CALLED P I F .............................................................................

The basic rules... PIF = Pay it forward ...

In a PIF, somebody asks, "Who wants free cigars?". The first person to respond that they want some free cigars, gets to receive some cigars from the person offering. The "suggested minimum" PIF package is 5 premium smokes. You are encouraged to send more, but no less please.

If you don't have a few quality smokes, PLEASE BUY SOME, then play. 🙂

Being a newbie to cigars, as well as to the boards, and having read this carefully, how does a newbie determine what constitutes a "quality smoke?

Read what people on the boards are talking about. See what cigars the vets talk about, after awhile you'll get to know the top shelf from the dog rockets, although your taste may very, some good ones I like are, CAO, Padron, Torano, Arturo Fuente. These brands are all pretty good and to make it better you can go up a knotch and get Arturo Fuente Hemingways, or Padron Anniversarys series, so on and so forth.

Not to put a dollar amount on quality, but usually as long as you stick between the $3 to $10 range, you are into "good quality" cigars. Anything up from there and you get into super premiums and such.
