Can anyone recommend a heavy, quality, keep the kids out, thief won't waste his time, gun safe for under $600.00? I have been looking at safes at a warehouse retailer and wanted to check here before I bought one.

Thanks in advance.

I'm actually fairly pleased with the higher end 'stack on' brand found in most cheapo places. The key is to bolt it directly to the studs in your wall to slow down intruders.

my local homedepot carries a full size rifle safe for about 350$ 4 maybe 5 feet high, bolts to the floor with combination lock. i actually installed one of these in a night club for the owners. they could stack all the register drawers in there perfectly. very heavy piece! email me if any more questions.

I did some searching around for my brother about 6 months back... I looked at many safes Remington, Browning, S&W's all gun names... found out there's only a few company's who actually put these together and the "Names" are stuffed on them for $$$$.$$ reasons....

Liberty safe back then was running a sale getting close for Christmas deals... my brother picked up a real nice 14 gun safe with storage bottom for a little over the $600.00 your looking to spend... and he's a very happy camper with it...

Good Luck in your Choice....

castlewa - I would have to agree with hog on this one. I started out with a Liberty Centurion Safe that cost me around the 600.00 mark. It says it will hold up to 25 rifles I would say 20 is more like it. As my collection has grown I have added 2 more of this exact model and I am well pleased. Gunlfint
