Serves them right! They should be running around cursing and drinking like normal kids. Freakin dogooders. I blame their parents.

LOL

The last line of the article "Something bad could have happened to them."

Yeah, like they could have been sued by the neighborhood witch and lost $900.

I wonder if that lady ended up keeping the cookies then or if she returned them.

Guess we will have to add a line to the "Death of Commone Sence" thread about this.

I think what they did was nice. I also think the lady over-reacted BIG TIME.

That being said... you knock on MY door at 10:30 pm and I ain't answering the door happy.

Common sense should have made that lady decide not to sue. It also should have told those girls that it was too late to be making cookie deliveries.

I wonder how many kids get sued on Halloween?

What a crappy thing to do....what makes me even more mad is that she is acting as if she is doing them good by teaching them some sort of lesson.

The only lesson they recieved is: If you do something good for someone else, you will get swift retribution.

I will also add that the judge ought to be ashamed with himself. He should have tossed that lady out on her A$$, and sued her for wasting public money.

I'd send the B!tch a Bill for the cost of the cookies and delivery fee of say around $950.00

If she refused to pay the fee.. take it to small claims court and put a lean on the property's....

Nuff Said!!!!

Very very sad day. I'd be exceptionally proud of my children for doing something like that.

MAC- I agree to a certain extent about the hours. But there has to be something seriously wrong with her or she had to have had a really bad experience in teh past to react the way she did. Either way she should have marched her happy ace down to their parents house and talked to them instead of the courts.

Who knows maybe she has had panic attacks all her life and some friend said HEY you should sue them for pain and suffering.

What a nut-job. I cannot believe that a judge made that decision. $900 for a door knock. Someone find this lady's address; I'm gonna knock on her door.

....gotta agree with MAC,
Although this lady is seriously whacked and I hope her neighbors remember her next time she has a flat tire and needs a hand (they obviously live out in the country, note the references to farmyard chores, etc), the girls were wrong. They didn't deserve a lawsuit though.

Wrong in the sense that beating on someone's door (especially someone that lives in the sticks) at 10:30 at night, is a little curious. Especially if the person in the house repeatedly calls "who's there" and you simply beat on the door some more and then run off.

Be honest Hog, if they had done this at your house, they would've been greeted in the driveway as they "ran off" with the barrell of a gun....yes or no?

The lady should've visited the girls the next day and bi*tch slapped both of them for their stupidity. Then let it rest at that.

The court thing was really nuts. It makes me sick.

Anyway, if I had a 17 year old kid, I don't think I'd let them be running around ringing doorbells at 10:30 at night and running off. We had a name for that when I was a kid. Cookies or no cookies, it's dangerous business.

he overall feelings about this is that there should have never been a suite but that these girls are out of there mind for ever being there...

"The lady should've visited the girls the next day and bi*tch slapped both of them for their stupidity."

I'm not saying that anyone is wrong for what they have posted, but rather that it is sad that it is thought in today's world that at 10:30 at night, visitor's are not welcome.

Take it from someone who grew up not only in the country but on a farm, my door was open to my town. And there's was open to me... it was a solid feeling, and one that I don't really feel anymore.

Sarah and I are moving in 14 days, back to a home much like I grew up in, in a town even smaller than that which I grew up in.... it will be a nice change of pace if you asked this countryboy.

IMHO
