I'm a bit of a gun nut.

Figured I'd ask like-minded folks about their favorite pistol or revolver

I got a Steyr M40 about two years ago and have enjoyed the sh%t out of it. A close second is my Ruger Redhawk 44mag......BOOM!

I always grab my 44 Mag... Redhawk and wish sometimes I woulda bought the Super Redhawk.. 8" barrel...

owned a S&W 45 stub nose at one time.. didn't like the feel... also had S&W 357 yrs ago 6" it was a good gun.. but I prefer the feel of the Rugers over S&W...

Whoa now....there is a difference.

There are gun nuts, and a nut with gun.

You make the choice. LOL!

My duty weapons are a GUU5P, M9 Baretta with laser grip, and a 12ga.

My pocket gun is a Glock 26. 🙂

Old reliable Browning High Power 9mm Stainless with 3 dot night sites, a worked trigger and beveled magazine feed

I know a lot would say 9MM is not powerful enough and lacks stopping power

But when you can triple tap the center of a beer coaster from ten yards it is more than enough and close enough for government work

EI, the nice thing about 9mm is an hour at the range will cost you about 50% less then say someone with a rilfe shooting NATO rounds.

I've been drewling over the semi-auto 9mm MP5 at the gunshop. Now that's some 9mm power.

Stopping power....awwwwwwww pewy!

I can place one right in your mouth and drop you like a sack of potatoes. Shot a person in the mouth severe the brain stem and they will flop to the group. You also don't use cheap ammo either. 🙂

BTW them 9mm's are piss ants!!!! and most them wont hold range to standard revolver ;0)~~~

Automatics get dusty and dirty and have a tendency to not get the job done... last thing you want is a Jamb in a gun battle ;0)~~~

REVOLVERs wont jamb!!! LOL

Hog.......

Also, automatics are tougher to use and tougher to determine if they are loaded/chambered for someone who doesn't shoot alot (although anyone who buys a gun and intends to use it for protection BETTER know how).

I do love the Steyr though; a really great and user friendly double safety. Also the disassembly lever on the side looks like a safety, so in the case where someone may take possesion of your pistol, they would probably take it apart trying to get the safety off.

Revolvers are pretty damn simple and safe. I bought my wife a 38 special taurus (aluminum & SS). Nuttin simpler.....point and shoot.

I have a Browning Buckmark Competition model at home... .22 caliber, but I am so damn good with a gun, i'll still kill an intruder with one well placed shot.

I'm not BS-ing either.

I prefer the military issue 9mm Beretta 92F though. It fits in my hand perfectly and every time I go to the range I get 46/47 of 48 rounds in the 5 hole. This is shooting the Navy Qualification Course...

Ever take a liberal target shooting? (actually in my neck o' the woods its garbage dump shootin).

I have. He loved it so much he bought a gun. It is quite the basic pleasure to empower yourself with deadly force and direct it at beer cans.

Right now it is my S&W 357 and it hasn't jammed yet 😉! I had a S&W 38 with a 4" barrel and it was accurate. I felt more comfortable with that longer barrel because I knew I wasn't going to miss. The 357 has 2-1/2 barrel but I wouldn't miss up close.
