I just read a tasting description that talked about flavors of sugar, leather, nuts, coffee and cinnamon, but didn't say anything about tobbacco. No wonder Drew Estate is so confused. (and that's without the incense!).

I sure know when they're tasteless...

I understand sugar, spice, even pepper. I haven't tasted leather (who wants to taste leather?),coffee or caramel in a cigar. I am also not sure what woody and vegetal are although I have an idea. I have also had dry tasting cigars. If you pay more for a cigar do you get more flavors?

I think that cigars with a leathery aroma are especially nice and smooth, think rich corinthian leather like Ricardo Montablan would like.

I had a Players Club figuro by Don Diego tonight that was full of nice flavors. Started as a pretty strong cedar flavor. after a couple minutes it turned into a more intense bread flavor with a hint of vanilla. At the end it finished in a coffee flavor with some spice to it. Happy smoking all!!

sometimes I wonder If the "professionals" who do these ratings are nothing more than wackos with a big vocabulary and too much time on there hands. I have been smoking cigars for 24 years. I have only been into the premiums for 4 of those years. A cigar tastes like a cigar. Some are better and some really suck. I have nut yet tasted nuts,cinnamon,laether, roses or cow dung in a cigar. I know that if I am smoking 3 or 4 a day a stronger cigar is no problem but if I havent smoked to much for a while the same cigar will have me dizzy and on the floor half way through it and does no seem to taste the same as it did before. I realise that no individual cigar is equal to another and can actually vary greatly in a bad batch. Anyway... the ciagar ratings are almost a useless as movie critics!!!!! cj

ellesson & billmerit: if the truth be known i have tasted fried chicken after a chicked diner, chocolate after a malted, and leather after i have chewed the sheba's rawhide trying to show her what she is supposed to do. i can't remember what a cigar tasted like after a toasted onion bagel with a shmear.

How does anyone know the flavor of cedar or leather? I have never tasted my leather jacket or shoes nor have I taken a bite out my cedar cabin in Wisconsin! John

OK maybe hints of Cedar and or leather are more olfactory sensations,although I have tasted cedar/leather when machining or milling it.You can't tell me you don't taste Coa coa in Perdomo products or Coffee in CAO's and a few others.CA is way out of hand though with some or most of their descriptions.Try CW for some hands on reviews,done by regular cigar smoking guys like you and me.Hell even yours truly has done a few reviews for them.LOL.CW=? Here is a rating for one of the more famous cigars that have been sold on closeouts on CB. Taste like bad perfume, smells like sh-t, with gentle dry overtures of cat urine and harsh followon leathery taste. The Hamilton House has all of that! Charlie
