I live about 140 miles south of Spokane. What kind of information are you looking for?

Just basic stuff about Spokane in case I decide to take a job offered there...nice city? Do you know if it has decent schools? Is housing expensive, that kind of stuff.

Thanks!

My 2 bits; Spokane is the largest city in the eastern half of the state. I know many people who grew up or worked in Spokane and their biggest complaint was how terrible the drivers are. I didn't fact check this, but I've been told that it has one of the highest incidents of drivers running red lights in the North West. It's a fast growing and expanding city, especially on the outskirts. I think they have a pretty good radio/communications industry. They get all 4 seasons and are in a fairly mountainous area. I've never had a bad experience there and have visited many times for business. I will tell you this, it's a hell of a lot better city than Dallas.

Thanks a bunch, Thom...I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. Obviously Spokane is a smaller market, not as much bucks as Dallas, but I grew up in a very small town and I think I am the better for it as an adult...thinking now in terms of my 5 year old daughter. Beginning to lean northwest.

Thanks again -

I don't know about the schools, but you can go to a realty site I.E. www.realtor.com or similiar site and research the housing market yourself. The only comlpaint that I have is that the driving is terrible. JMO

Lived in Spokane for 3 years in the mid 70's. I liked it a lot even in the winter. (got used to the snow) Big enough to have everything and small enough to enjoy it.

I thought the driving got better after I left.
