Hey Hog,

Brother, I think this will go down in flames with a slow, even burn and perfect light gray ash.

I've communicated with my senator Patty Murray about this and she has told me via email and formal letter that what is done for us veterans is done. The politics of this situation required that something be given up as well as gained, and we were lucky to get what we have now.

It's all about the Benjamins. If there were an extra $100 billion floating around the US treasury over the next 10 years we might have the money to pay for this.

MAKE NO MISTAKE. I'm totally supportive of this house resolution. I'm on the list. I'm rated 40% service connected. You think I wasn't pissed when I got my letter? Knees, back, high BP, varoius other chronic stress related illnesses if added separately combined to total 50%. But in the wisdom of the VA it was dropped to 40% because of the "scope of certain injuries were not considered to be debilitating enough to warrant an overall rating of 50%". That decision cut me out of the loop for priority health care with the VA, and chopped me off for concurrent receipt.

Ya, I'm upset, but the redress process would take 7 -12 months and I needed to start receiveing benefits NOW.

Hog, Thanks for being vigilent and letting us know about this. This is important, and I'll be keeping an eye on it's progress. I'm hopeful, but not optimistic.

Herf, Sounds to me like Sen. Patty Murray needs to take a trip to one of the VA Hospitals and get an eye opener... if that doesn't work then she needs another eye opener come election time!!!! regardless of what political ally she runs down...
