just want to say that I am not happy with the way this was advertised. I expected another bid after the first but to go from 5 - 50, saying very limited then add all kinds of other extras in with it. I just lost all of the excitement of going. I guess next will be another 100 . May as well have it run right along with the first herf. I'm thinking my money would have been better spent at Bethleham Brew works with everyone else.

I'm with you....I won a ticket on first bid....then I see this in "special's" oh well....I can only hope all the "master's" reach in their coat pockets in the "after herf" and surprise those attending!!!!!

The After-Fest will have open bar, food, music - it'll be hard not to have a good time there.

Something like 175 total people at the After-Fest, 100 of which are cigar industry people. Since 55 tickets are available here at CBID total and another 20 at our retail shop, that means 75 attendees. Compare it to well in excess of 1,000 at CigarFest.

Could you check with the "powers to be" and see if it is possible to have our names included in the drawing for "the all expense paid trip"? I am close by, but would love a limo ride to event. Just a thought from one of your earlier ticket winners. Either way I am looking forward to the event. A "Grand Time" shall be had by all.

Thanks & Happy Puffing to all at C-Bid,

My brother lives about 2 hours from the store... and he wants me to come visit him, since I haven't seen him in a long time. I may have to coincide the visit with the huge herf!! 🙂

My issue with this is not that we won't have a good time, but that we paid A LOT more for our tickets than the people who are bidding now are paying because we were lead to believe that these were extremely limited. And now the bid also includes the chance to win an all expense paid trip.

It was made out to be a very small group of people and that the tickets were going to be very hard to get----this is why we paid what we paid. Now we find out there are 50 more for sale here and another 20 at the store. Yes, it is still a small group compared to the Fest itself, but it was misleading.

Why was the first group of 5 put on bid? Why weren't they all just put on at the same time? Why wasn't it made clear that another 50 were being auctioned only a week or so after the first group were sold? And why weren't we given the chance to win the trip?

If we had waited to purchase our tickets, we would have saved almost $75. We could buy a lot more cigars from C-Bid if we had that money still available.

The auction has a week left. The tickets at the retail shop are priced at $100. $75 will be well worth it IMO!

It is a very small group: 75 people total.

No worries, we will include the other 5 in the drawing for the "expense paid trip" too.

MAC(SW): it would be great if you could be there!

Were you serious about in excess of 1000 people at cigarfest 2005?

I'm just remembering cigarfest last year (at which I had a great time !!). I don't believe there were near 1000 people there, and the lines were pretty long to meet with the cigar manufacturers and get the sample. (not to mention the beer and food lines).

How are you going to manage a 1000 people?

Not that I'm too woried, just wondering if I need to get there the night before and camp out?

Last year we had 400 people - the venue was our old warehouse building as you know, so 400 was the absolute maximum we felt comfortable having there. This year it's different - in an expo center which is much larger, wide aisles, more tables and chairs too. Not to mention very high ceilings and better ventilation! So it's a different animal.

My $.02 worth......the last large herf I attended everyone was given a "goodie bag " of cigars from each manufacturer represented at the event as you entered, plus a few extra's from event sponsor. You could meet with each cigar manufacturer at your convience throughout the evening. I'm not sure what your plans are, I am going by previous post, where last year you waited in line for a sample from each manufacturer. Seem to work out well. You presented them with your ticket to receive "goodie bag". Just my $.02 worth........Look forward to meeting everyone at event.

Happy Puffing to all,

A whole bunch of owners and cigar people will be there, makers like Ernesto Carillo, Nick Perdomo, Jon Drew, Christian Eiroa, Jose Blanco, Jose Dominguez, Carlos Torano, Nestor Plasencia Jr., plus owners such as Rocky Patel, Kaizad Hansotia, Mike Cusano, (probably Aylin Ozgener) and others. Not too many other places besides the RTDA industry trade show where this many are in one place. They'll be handing you cigars and get a chance to chat about their cigars. That's part and parcel of the event vs. just getting a bunch of cigars in a bag.

Any more fun and it'd be a sin!

If you say so.......
Cigars were presented in a nice box......not a baggie!!!! I'm sure they are going to really spend time with all 1000+ of us... I look forward to this.

tough crowd, Keith. LOL. Since everyone's is putting there.02 in and we're up to about $8.46 in opinions now, I might as well put my .02 in, LOL. Maybe stop building this up to be a cigar slumberparty where we will be curling Nick perdomo's hair and playing truth or dare with all are favorite cigar makers, and just say what it really is, a big freakin' herf where we get to meet new friends from the boards and see some of the big time cigar makers at there booths.

I guess we all get a "punch card" to have each manufacturer punch as you receive sample cigar and explanation of his master piece.....this way no one can go in line for a 2nd or 3rd time.......LOL

Only Kidding.....My fellow BOTL.........
