You may see some of these cars if they are ever manufactured in North America. North American Stock Car Auto Racing(NASCAR)(I think I have the right words) requires the models to be manufactured in North America

The Toyota trunk is running in the truck series this year. Next year they will be running in the busch series, and hopeful to make it into the Cup Series in 2007.

I think the big hold up is NASCAR rules require rear wheel drive and most pacific rim and euro cars are front drive

Along with the fact that fuel injection isn't allowed and most of the overseas manufacturers haven't built a carb in a long long time

I know, your all gonna say nothing on a NASCAR is stock anyway

But Ford Chevy Dodge and Pontiac supply the blocks and the rear ends

I just don't know of any japanese or euro V8 blocks that would qualify under current rules

And as for Darrell Waltrip running a toyota truck

He has been for the last two years thats nothing new

There was a piece in Car & Driver about the Toyota truck in the Craftsman Truck Series. According to the article the Toyota is the only true truck from the ground up while the Chevys, Fords and Dodges are truck bodies on NASCAR frames. Something to think about.

Also, friends on the inside tell me that the Toyota truck turns upwards of 600hp on the dynamometer. I could go for the 40ft 5th wheel camper with 600hp at my disposal.

The motor Toyota uses is a motor that they designed to race in nascar unless I am missinformed they don't use it any production veh. Nascar race cars and trucks are using a very old chassis design. It has nothing to do with real world car design. They use a old truck arm rear end like was used in late 60 chevy trucks. Any pavement or dirt late model car uses a much better design but harder to control cheating. Ford and Toyota and Mopar race motors are not close to poduction motors. Chevy uses a head design that was first used on 97 vette now used on small block trucks.
