We just found out that our offer was accepted on the house we wanted. YEAH!!!!

Settlement is May 31st. We can't wait. David finally has a room he can make into his own humidor--and he won't have to smoke his cigars outside any more. Life is good.

Thanks everyone. We fell in love with it. I just wish we could move sooner.

The house is in Chester County, PA. It has 1.3 acres and has 4 BR, 3 bath with 2,600 sq ft---for less than $300,000. Where we live now, this house would be at least $500,000 or more. But then again, around here there are no houses with over an acre.

The room for the humidor is a workshop right now but it is perfect for a walk in humidor. With our inventory, we need something fairly large. That is one reason we are moving. The cigar business is taking over and we have run out of room.

Hmmm...I keep looking for places to retire....NOT in California. Our house would sell for near that price now.

I figure something like that near here would go for about 600K. Near where Knof lives you would see it for around a million.

rayder,

Look at Wisconsin for great property value. Just be prepared for cold weather. Don't let it scare you, you will get used to it.

Beautiful home. Congratulations

Hey rayder1..

I live near knoff (soth of him in San Jose). With that much property try 1.something million. More depending on zip code. (Saratoga or Monte Sereno $2m+ easy) My house his a 4/3 2200sq ft on a tract lot. The like houses in the area are going for anywhere between $650,000 and $750,000. My friend who lives in Oakdale California...little central valley hick town of about 50,000, the median price for a 3/2 1200sq ft house on almost zero lot line is about $350,000.

I have a 1800 sq ft house with 1.5 acres and paid $165,000. The house I sold (and regret) went for $190,000 in 2000 with 1 acre and 1800 sq ft. If you are wondering, I sold it because I got divorced. Marla, if you are ever in Manhatten and shopping at Victoria's Secret, ask for the disrict manager and tell her you know me. She had better give you a discount!!

That is a nice lookin' house, here in SoCal (Costa Mesa) It would go for around 1,200,000! I have 2600 sq ft in a ranch style house and that would be about right!

Thanks everyone.

There are some really expensive areas out there. It makes our neck of the woods look really cheap. Makes me glad I don't live in CA.

Enjoy your new home and yes, California is expensive, and it is like living in the United Nations instead of the USA at times, but I love it!

It's a beautiful house. My old english teacher used to say that it is what is in the house makes it a home. Sounds like you guys have both.

in SF a dumpy 1000 sq ft condo goes for $550. An acre of land in this city is probably 5 million with nothing on it... maybe 10... God I can't wait to move back to Denver!!!
