No matter which brand of cigars I buy, some are plugged. Some brands more then others. I'm too cheap to throw them away, is there any way they can be saved?

I can stand anything from a cigar except the plugged cigar.

keep an eye out on the merchandise auctions here as often CI will often a cigar draw mender. You carefully work it up the length of the cigar a few times and this helps loosen the cigar. Also you can carefully roll or massage the cigar in your fingers, this helps a bit also. With these two methods I haven't had to throw out a cigar because of a bad draw in months. These methods won't cure the problem, but most likely make your cigar at least bearable. Also I wish CI would offer a product called cigar doctor. It is a little jar of odorless and tasteless glue like liquid, that is excellent to repair damaged wrappers, caps, or small holes in the cigar. It has saved a number of cigars of mine from the bin.

no need to buy fancy gadgets. bamboo skewers sold for shishkebobs work great. just carefully push it through the length of the cigar.

There is a product called a "Draw Poker" that works quite well to unplug tight cigars. The only place I have found this product , however, is from Thompson Cigars.

All of the above works I'm sure. Buy better cigars. That works too.

Nothing worse than a special "occasion cigar" turning out to be plugged. In my last failed effort it was a 25$ siglo vi. I'm leaning towards a fake. I got it from ZRX.

Its painful even to read that about a 25 dollar cigar. My sympathies.

And they're not fake! I just put the extra reserva band on it! It's still technically a real tat.

A straightened paperclip works great too, and is thinner than the bamboo skewer, for smaller RG cigars. I used a skewer on a corona, and the dang thing split. The paperclip poker saved a plugged WOAM. First poorly rolled Fuente stick I've had.

Dude, NEVER knowingly send a fake cigar to someone. That is super uncool in my book.

I didn't send a fake cigar to anyone.

It's a real noella reserva. Just got accused of it haveing a fake band on it. So now people are joking about it. But believe me. If I have any small thought that something isn't what it's suppose to be I would not send it. And never have.

Someone literally begged me for that cigar and I had never had one and would have loved to keep it for myself but they wanted it really bad so I sent it. My thank you was being accused of something I would never do.

I don't want to hash it out any more if that's ok

Back to plugged cigars!!

...the straightened paper clip, pushed in carefully (often 2 -3 times) through the open cap, will allow the smoke to flow through a plugged cigar...
