The Flying Merkel.............hmmmmmmmmm.

I think I hurt my back once trying that one.

Is that the one with the bowl of grapes or the sausage links?

E,

It's a Flying Merkel a motorcycle made back in the early 1900's?

Yes!

I saw it on American Thunder (tv show)...along with a lot of others on auction...

Just picqued my interest and wondered if anyone else knew what I was talking about...(like they ever do)...

I just wanted to see what others wanted to say about it...and antique motorbikes in general...

:)

I use to have a coffee table, picture book of the history of the motor cycle. I thought I remembered the name...

Cool stuff. My dad had a harley with a suicide stick from when he was an MP in the Army. I had a Honda Ascott when I was younger.

Thanks for the post. I hadn't thought of the books or those bikes in a long time.

Marla,

Are you talkin' "Flyin' Fred Merkel"? I met him at Road America in Wisconsin in 1986 when he was a factory Honda motorcycle racer.
