My wafe just finished re-painting our bedroom and I was assigned the task of painting the doors and the trim!

That sucked!

I am with you on that one.

LOL!

Delta, why don't you spray it on? Easier to reach around the hanging frames that way.

Seriously though, hire painters next time.

That's what I would do because I'm rich and handsome. LOL

The hassle's not worth it if it's a large project.

I don't mind painting... but i'm a sailor, so i'm used to painting... a lot.

Ask Clive what a new guy on the ship does most of the time... 2 things:

A) Clean

B) Paint

Your first few years in the Navy you get real good at both of those.

the worst of all the choirs is recarpeting the house. everything out of the house.

then 4 months later the carpet starts to fall apart and the warrenty kicks in and you get new carpet again.

this time most of the accumulated junk stays outside in boxes for the estate sale afer i die.

I don't mind painting at all. In fact, I'm quite good at applying paint as far as good coverage per hour, etc is concerned.

The problem I have is with "precision painting"; that is...painting certain things and certain things only. I'm not any good at that at all, and so my wife doesn't let me paint anymore.

Andy... this is why you have "prep time".

First, you mask off anything that you do NOT want paint on... and then you go to town.

One other bit of advice i've learned over the years... it is best to let the paint completely dry before removing all the masking.

My wife also likes to paint. She's painted our bathroom and our kitchen and gone so far as to do textures and borders and all I have to do is move stuff out of the way and stay out when she's working. I'll take that deal any time.
