Now it's health insurance.

So my wife and I were wondering...

Upon filling out the application, my wife came across a line asking about surgeries. She recently had a bunion removed and was deemed healthy and healed by her doctor.

Is this going to be a problem as some kind of pre-existing condition?

How forthright do we need to be about our medical history?

I was hospitalized for a few hours like 8 or 9 years ago after having a bit of a nervous breakdown or anxiety attack. Doc released me with some Valium and told me to quit drinkin'. I did for a month and have been fine (relatively) ever since.

Do I need to call the hospital and ask them what is on thier books for that episode?

These answers and any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kendall

problem in a nut shell is the warranty questions. thise are the ones you are asking about. under normal conditions the insurance carrier doesn't check every claim, but, and that is the big but. if there is a major problem and they might have to pay a large sum of money for something serious, they will fine comb your app and look for away to rescind your policy effective with the date it was approved and return all the premiums you paid because you never had a valid policy.

if there is a difference in price or an exclusion for mental health coverage or toe coverage, at least you can be assured you are covered for everything else.

insurance companies trade information, so if you decide to check someone else, they will already know everything about you.

bite the bullet and know you are covered, it's not worth the chance.
