guess where i found this.

The doctor-patient relationship has been eroded, and in some instances replaced, by external

decision-making and managed care bureaucracy.

we will promote a health care system that supports, not supplants, the private sector; that promotes personal responsibility in health care decision-making; and that ensures the least intrusive role for the federal government.

The traditional patient-doctor relationship must be preserved. Medical decision-making should be in the hands of physicians and their patients.

try the republican platform 2000.

now the democratic platform is probably as full of crap, but at this point in time it's the republicans rushing to the pulpit.

Rick, your discussion here is on Mrs. Schaivo?? how did it get turned around to the political platform??

this is one of those cases that tests the bounds of the Constitution.... where it is writen in the Constitution we have the Exectutive Branch, Legislative Branch, and Judiciary Branch... in this case all three have been in use to preserve the rights to freedoms and also enduring once again the moral and ethical practice to which the foundation of the constitution was also based on along with the laws set forward....

as far as doctors.. which one are you going to listen to if you go in for eye surgery and they tell you nope not today we're going to give you a bypass because your heart isn't ticking right? and we don't want you dying on us while we're lazering your cornia...

Mrs. Schaivo from what I seen on live video feed two nights ago.. is not in a Vegitative State she's responsive... and when was the last time Doctors really did a re evaluation on her?? from what I understand there is one test that can be preformed to make this determination and they will not preform it???

It is a matter of a Life... vegitative state I would say pull the plug... but she has feeling and emotion.. so this isn't the case...It's Murder and worse then what Death Row inmates recieve for capitol punishments...

Her husband wants to remarry and get on with his life.. fine let him... her parents said they would gladly take over care of their daughter... So why doesn't he let this happen?? what is this man hiding?? I think he's affraid she will be reabilitated and can talk about what really happened to her???

he didn't mind spending the malpractice lawsuit money's on not getting her proper treatment... before that suit was settled she was responsive in her rehab program.. as soon as the suit was settled he stopped all actions to assist her for betterment???

"Rick, your discussion here is on Mrs. Schaivo?? how did it get turned around to the political platform?? "

Interesting, I was thinking the same thing, only replacing 'Rick' with 'Congress' and now 'Florida Judge'.

mrs schaivo was an example of republican double speak.

after making all the proclamations in their platform about keeping the government out of the doctor patient relationship, the republicans are now at the forefront of butting in to what they said they wouldn't want to do.

as far as mrs schaivo is concerned, i think she should be on the feeding tube and given every rehab there is available to prolong her life and try to improve it.

i am oppossed to capital punishment also.

I feel very sad for the split within this family that has vaulted Mrs. Sciavo's condition into the forefront.

As far as her viability, Hog, you should read this:

The lady is for all purposes brain dead! The idea to keep her alive is foolheardy, and yes I am a Republican, and a waste of time!

I guess you could read my sentence as I am a waste of time, but I meant that the idea to keep Mary Schaivo alive is foolheardy and a waste of time! I inserted the Republican in there because I do not march with the party drum all the time! This is a silly thing to be taking to Congress!

Charlie... but baseball and Steroid use is What to Congress??

this whole legal issue could have been avoided if her husband wants out then sign rights to her back over to the parents... at this rate he's restricted the parents from doing anything with their daughter... and she is not brain dead nor vegitative state as they claim and right now what America and the world is witnessing is Murder or more easily stated Capital Punishment with no crime commited other then the right to life!!!
