So I'm loadin' up the family and headin' up to Grants Pass, Oregon to stay. Gonna' go into real estate and abuse my Mother's client list as she is moving out of the sales section of the biz and into development.

The plan is to get my wife, Heidi into the home and have some more kids. I got a job offer down here for 70 grand plus full bennies, but that just isn't enough for the cost of living here in Santa Cruz.

I'm keeping my beach house, renting it out and buying 1 or 2 more up there with refi money (housing up there is booming as well.)

My mother's new constrution company is building a nice new home with a pool, diving board and hot tub (we couldn't go without taking a little California with us.) Did I mention the home theater? Been wanting one of those since I could crawl. Instead I built one for my tenant.

The whole thing Should be ready around the 1st of April, but I told my boss I'd stay thru April 17th to cover his vacation.

Don't mean to sound like I'm boasting, but we're really looking forward to our new home as we've been basically homeless (living with family to whom we are forever grateful) for about 3 years now. Our house is too small for 3 and we were in the process of remodeling it and we were undecided about what to do next after the remodel.

We will surely miss our Californian freinds, but we are hopeful to remain in contact and visit fairly often. Heidi plans to trek down here about 6 times a year and help out with the family farm's (berries) book keeping. I'll be pretty busy for awhile, but I should be able to stay in touch.

I'll be switching to Charter Cable Modem as they don't have SBC up there. I'll drop all my contacts a line when I get the new address.

Thanks for listening,

Kendall

not a bad move...Santa Cruz is nice, Grants Pass is awesome. Just a hop skip and a jump away from the ocean and much, much cheaper....good luck.

Sketcha....Grants pass is beautiful!! Once you get up here, you need to drop me a line and we'll get together somewhere for a smoke. I'm willing travel down your way from Eugene to say hi and meet!

Congrats on the move, hope all goes well with the particulars in doing that!

Thanks, guys.

Yeah, I grew up in Grants Pass so I'm going home. Sometimes I feel like I've got my tail between my legs, but there are other reasons I'm tired of Santa Cruz. I'm going to miss living within easy reach of the metropolis that is the Bay Area and all the fun that entails, but I can always visit.

Hey lukin,

How do you know Grants Pass? Where you at?

It was only out of respect for a fellow BOTL that I didn't take her home.

herf,

4X4! Average anual snowfall in GP is about 3". It's rarely anything to be concerned about. However, we will be taking the kid/s to the snow in winter which is like 45 min. away.

The climate there is actually pretty mild. A little warmer in the summer and a little colder in the winter than Santa Cruz. Exact same avg. rainfall.
