Actually, he choked yesterday as well. Only thing was, Jeter homered off of Foulke in the bottom half of the ninth and sealed the victory.

Mariano Riveria is one of the best closers in history, but the Red Sox have had his number lately. That's 4 blown saves in a row, going back to last years ALCS!

I went to opening day, and the Yanks blasted my Sox so I didn't get to see a Mariano melt down.

Kudos to the Yankee fans, though. They were loud, boisterous, and mostly good-natured.

Makes it almost difficult to hate them now.

Almost...

Well, they aren't stealing signs and he's not tipping pitches... If Rivera's on the mound - he's throwing his cut fastball - pretty much every pitch... Of course how the sox are able to hit it is beyond me - maybe they should be checking those bats, because they aren't breaking....lol....

steanling signs???? Why would they need to steal signs if he can't get the ball across the plate?

It was a beautiful thing. Leaving NY one game instead of 3 games behind is huge. Best revliever in history? Mmm, don't think so, but would love it if Rivera BECAME hisoty.

All good things come to an end. Mariano Rivera will be 36 in November. He still throws hard, but he's not great any more. He's blown 5 out of the last 6 save opportunities against the Red Sox including the previous post season. Time has passed him by, and I think Frankie Rodriguez will replace him as closer before the season is is over.

Tough break Mariano. Now, go get your shine box.
