BOTL, FYI.

The windshield on my wife's car cracked about 2 days after getting pretty severely dinged. Nice sized strawberry. First hot day, and it cracked. Of course, I knew it would happen, but it cost me my deductible.

The NOVUS repairman, (not a plug) informed me they will fix dings and my insurance company WILL COVER DING REPAIR AT NO COST. NO DEDUCTABLE CHARGE.

So, for all of you with those dings, it may behoove you to contact your insurance company, find out if they cover dings. They would rather pay for a ding repair than replace a windshield at $300 or more.

I learned something new today.

Herfsnipe,

Check your state's insurance law. In Kentucky there is NO DEDUCTIBLE on glass. Period. You may have a refund coming from the repair shop...

I had a small crack starting in my windshield a couple years ago, and the insurance company covered the repair under my comp. No refund from anyway; just covered. This is in Jersey.

Herfsnipe said the ordeal had cost him his deductible. My point was that if the insurance company paid for the repair and then the shop invoiced herfsnipe for the deductible, the shop was paid too much and owes herfsnipe some money back.
