all the weather reports suggessted the possibility of light showers.

it's 5:00am and the rain is pouring and i hear thunder.

i have a pail that was empty and now has 3 or 4 inches of rain but will be reported as "1.25 inchs of rain fell last ight

tomorrow the weather people will register their surprise at the volume of rain and explain why their predictions were correct, but the rain had it's own agenda and didn' tell them

I missed out on that gig!

That has to be the best job on the face of the planet!

Even when you're wrong you can blame El Nino, or La Nina or some water spout or freak 11" snow storm and keep your job!

It was raining a little on my way into work, but I left early enough that I still did 80 all the way in, since the traffic was very light.

About 15-20 minutes later... the traffic gets much worse.

Nah. I get up at 4:30, usually. My wife and I work 2 buildings apart on the same base (she is a civilian employee) so we carpool, but she didn't work today and I woke up about 10 minutes before the alarm, so that gave me a pretty good head start, and I didn't have to wait for my wife to get ready. I was out the door at 4:45.

Thankfully, my wife doesn't wear makeup (except lipstick) so it doesn't take her long to get ready at all, really. We usually leave at 5:00.

It's been raining all last night and just recently let up here in the northern part of California.

Along the way during my 35 mile drive to work this morning, I saw everything from sprinkles to a deluge ... at one time or another, I had the wipers on every intermittent level the car has plus the low and the high constant speeds ... can't remember a time in which I've seen so many variations of storm intensity in that short a distance ...

Happily, the end of the rainy season is within sight ...

up here a few hours north, we have had rain, followed by heat and sun, follwed by cold strong wind gusts, more rain, hail, etc. We have even had a couple of tornado warnings. This is not uncommon for this time of year, but it is annoying,
