How are these shows so popular? I cannot watch more than 30 seconds of any of them.

Survivor - NEVER bothered to watch it.

Bachelor/ette - NEVER bothered to watch it.

American Idol - Puh-LEASE! Never GOING to watch it.

I watch things like The Simpsons and King of the Hill. Friday Night Fights on ESPN. The King of Queens. Stuff like that.

Don't even get me started on Nanny 911 - I have never bothered to watch that show because the commercials make me want to beat the sh*t out of the parents of those little monsters. All those kids need is a good old fashioned ass-whoopin'. Thrice a day until they learn how to behave.

Although you didn't mention "America's Top Model". My mom has a thing for that decriped show. I always make it a point to get my dad out of the house on ATM nights...even if we're just sitting outside...anywhere but ear shot of that horrid program.

Never got into any of those.

My TV interest has decreased int he past few years, which could be a result of my daughter growing into a more active little girl and me spending less time on my arse when babysitting.

I generally prefer discovery/history/A&E, but also still love the Simpsons, King of the Hill, Cheers reruns, and South Park.

heard of all those shows.

we force ourselves to watch each for a minimum of 5 minutes once only. it develops character.

toby and i are characters.

we do like forensics and now the hd trauma in the er or something like that.

other then that TLC, HISTORY, AND DISCOVERY.

those are all game shows, probably why you have a hard time getting into them

try the new show on discovery channel "greatest catch, or deadliest catch" (Cant remember, but something like that) Thats some good reality TV, IMO

I like the History channel and discovery and Animal planet too. Most TV nowadays sucks though.

I long for football season and sunday in front of the tube...

What sneetch said...these are modern day game shows, and they are popular the same way that Joker's Wild was, and Match Game, and Jeopardy. It's just a different format, but its still just a contest. I'm not justifying them, I don't watch any of them and never have. But that is why they are popular, game shows have always been a very successful format.

I gotta agree with most of you. Never watched any of the reality TV shows and have no desire to ever watch them. However, CBID should start a reality TV show. Get several "outspoken" members that post on the Misc boards and let them live together in one house for a few weeks. I'd never miss an episode. Instant classic.

Hmmmmm...If you had to pick 10 cast members, who would they be????

Ya know what MACS you dont know SQUAT! Those are without a doubt THE BEST PROGRAMS EVER PRODUCED FOR TV!

For ratings at least. Not for creativity or good taste...

What kills me is for the most part if reality doesnt go in the right direction, the powers that be on the show steer in the direction they want it to. Its not reality in the least. Its for people that have no life of their own. Its just awful. Give me ****** Van****, M*A*SH, All in the Family reruns and the Discovery Channel and sports.

Ok well I must admit I catch Monster Garage and American Chopper every once in a while and that new show House is funny.

I am stuck watching AI because the wife will have a fit if she misses it. Personally I think its hilarious there is a groundswell to vote in Savoy because he is so blatantly NOT that good - henceforth sticking it to the man.

"makes" you ??? ... perhaps you should give some thought to spending time together by "making" her join you in the yard in order to watch you smoke a cigar ...

The wife and I watch The Amazing Race religiously. Love this show. Fun to watch the ineraction of the 2 man teams and how the stress can tear them apart and grow them closer.

Also love The Big Break on the golf channel. Fun stuff.
