Can someone clear something up for me..... everyone of my friends that I have talked to about cuban cigars all have the idea that cuban cigars are jocked full of pot. I'm not sure why they think this, and in asking them they say the same thing... "I don't know why I think that, it's just common sense"

... Can anyone shine some light on this fable???

and before you go there, I'm well aware that Philly's Blunts are commonly used to be cut open and stuffed with hash, LOL.

So where did this thought begin and have you experienced the same thought with people that you have spoken with???

they probably feel this way because Cuban Cigars are viewed as Contraban because of the Embargo on Cuba? and they don't know any better then to believe it has something to do with Drug Trafficing because of relation to US Customs Agency's involvement??

I know Weeder's around this area are favorable of the Blunts, but this is done from not so expensive tip filtered cigars with short fillers ;0)

I am sure that MACS will concur with me on this.....If there was weed in Cubans then I know for sure that there would be ALOT of people in the military getting busted for it........I KNOW THAT I WOULD.

Why Thank you Mr. cadbeans, MA2 USN.

As MA2 here has alluded to... I smoke Cubans almost exclusively now (they're less expensive than you think, since I can afford to do so) and I also get tested for various different drugs on a consistent basis. Never, have I come back positive for ANY drug.

The urinalysis testing that the military uses is VERY effective and conclusive. Worry not, my dear countryboy.

Now... when I retire, if they want to start adding it... that's a whole 'nother story. 🙂

UNTRUE...

They would be cheaper if they were stuffed with weed.

No one under the age of common sense (whatever the age is) should be allowed to smoke cigars.....

This classy art form and hobby is turning into nothing more than that of smoking cigarettes. I must be getting old or something.

I went into a lounge that I used to frequent a while back. It used to be a good place to "smoke." By that I mean gentlemen would sit, relax, smoke a stick, and talk as gentlemen. I went in, and left shortly thereafter. There were a bunch of lowlife's in there in jeans and t-shirts talking about meaningless garbage, cursing, being rude, and generally ruining my peaceful interlude with a good strong smoke. I went and found a new lounge. It was beside a tree in a park and I was alone at last with the flavor of my cigar.

Grass in Cubans.....that's just plain silly.

"I'm well aware that Philly's Blunts are commonly used to be cut open and stuffed with hash"

??!??

Doesn't make any sense at all. Hash is meant to be smoked deeply into the lungs (or so I'm told), whereas cigars are puffed into the mouth. If you're smoking cigar tobacco into your lungs with the hash, then you've made your hash into a very harsh smoke. If you're just puffing the hash into your mouth, then you're missing out on the best part! (or so I've been told)

Hey Country, If there's grass in those Cubans, you probably can look around you and smell it. LOL

As for the hash,I don't know. My brother could tell you although he pass away in 97 and he took it to the grave with him.

Sometime you just sit back and enjoy the smoke, then if you get this weird feeling about ya,you'll know because you'll have the munchies. HeHeHe

drnos,

I can honestly say that I have never even seen a blunt, but I am under the impression that when a blunt is made, or rolled, or whatever the term is, all of the cigar tobacco is taken out and all that is left is the wrapper and pot. So all you are smoking of the cigar is the wrapper and that you could probably inhale without too much trouble.

I had this discussion with a coworker. He just assumed that #1. since they are illegal they must have some in them. #2. Since they are so expensive, they must have some in them. #3. since everyone wants them so bad and says how awesome they are, there must be something stronger than usual in them. I explained that it has a lot to do with the Cuban soil and the climate. Also aging has something to do with it. He is fine with that now.

I can see adroomi and I will never be able to sit down and smoke one...

I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda guy and I got a vocabulary that'd make a sailor blush...

I just recently bought my first suit. Never having purchased a suit before, I picked one out that I liked. Of course I needed a tie too, since I only own the one that goes with my dress blues... then a nice belt to match of course... and some wingtips, since I only own the dress shoes that go with my uniforms... you get the idea.

Oscar De La Renta. It ain't a $3,000 Armani, but boy do I look good in it.

I believe the mis-conception is in the HIGH feeling some people get when smoking cuban cigars. I believe I read an article somewhere that attributes this HIGH to the rather abundant amount of lithium in cuban soil. Although you would think after years of farming the nutrient level of said soil would be rather depleted. I wish I could've been around 50 years ago to smoke some of the good ones.

Have a great day

drnos... not that this is the direct subject of this thread but those who cut up phillie's and pack them with weed aren't worrying about a smooth smoke. As one already mentioned, all of the tobacco from the cigar is taken out and than replaced with the pot... therefore become a blunt to be inhaled...

...that's what bloodyspaniard and Adroomi tell me anyway.

and by the way... there are a lot of cigarette smokers on this forum, it would blow your mind if you knew how many people inhaled cigar smoke as well.
