The state of Alaska used an ad like this in 1992, and it got the tree huggers so freaked out they didn't know what to do.
We were flying the park rangers around all summer doing a "wolf kill." There were simply too many wolves up on the Brooks Range for their own good, and the Delta Caribou Herd was in danger, as were the wolves from overpopulation. So, the park rangers flew around with us in helicopters and shot a few hundred. The animals were then inspected, catagorized, the meat was salvaged to feed other wildlife.
The animals rights people from the lower 48 who have no clue about wolves in Alaska went crazy and "boycotted" the tourism to Alaska with an ad campaign........so Alaska put an ad in all the papers that had a guy in a black ski mask holding a gun to wolves head and it said, "visit alaska or the wolf gets it."
