The other thread gives us an idea who the heavy hitters are in smoking cigars per day... now the next question is how many $$ in cigars have you smoked in one day... you know... that guy who smoked an entire box of Graycliff or Opus in one day... but don't continue to figure the cost for a week, month, year, etc... that could get depressing... and you sure as hell don't want your wife to find out how many $$ you are herfing!!

"don't want your wife to find out."

I think it is a Honey Don't Rick. As in "Honey don't waste money on those smelly things. We need to buy more crafty stuff for the house (i.e. scented candles, towels with prints on them that you can't use to wipe your hands, and seasonal figurines that sit in the closet 11/12ths of the year.)

are the $50 bills that Rick uses to light his smokes counted toward the daily total?

judging by his response above, plabonte has been hangin' around my house on the day the UPS guy brings the package from CB ... hey, maybe he IS the UPS guy!! ... that would 'splain how he knows what's being said when she sees another box arriving (no matter that some of them are destined for HER humi ... lol)

As for $$$ in one day, who the hell knows? ... if I stopped to think about it long enough to know the answer I'd have to quit smoking ... (I set HOW many $1 bills on fire????!!!!)

Steve, maybe our wives are twins separated at birth.

If you buy from Cigarbid...you don't ever spend a lot per day on cigars. But I am going to toss my wife in the fire as well. Man she gets on me when that smiley face guy on the box appears on the doorstep. I am strictly a patio smoker.

I love this:

"As in "Honey don't waste money on those smelly things. We need to buy more crafty stuff for the house (i.e. scented candles, towels with prints on them that you can't use to wipe your hands, and seasonal figurines that sit in the closet 11/12ths of the year.) "

Classic! :oD

Rayder ... re; your statement "If you buy from Cigarbid...you don't ever spend a lot per day on cigars" ... is a relative truth. I might modify that to read "if you buy from CB, you will spend less per day on cigars than you might otherwise" ... but, as the answers to the Most Cigars Smoked In One Day indicate, even at $1 per stick, it's a fair of $$ to smoke 10, 12, 15 or what was it now, 18? in one day. And let's face it, $3-$4 or more is likely to be the average cost per stick most of us are paying ...

Damn, now that I see it in THOSE terms, I would re-write that again to read "ONLY if you buy from CB can you afford to smoke very many cigars in a day"

Absolutely, and I stand modified. With Calif. taxes (now a higher proposed tobacco tax) This is the best way to minimize the $$ per day. I bought 3 cigars in Las Vegas (because I left my travel pouch at home). 2 H. Upmann and a Cohiba that ran me about $35-40 for the three. I think that's my highest cost day for the fewest sticks.

...it seems a big budget day for most of us would be two or three high dollar cigars rather than a dozen or so from the bargain basement.

Recognized some time ago, that while I'm on vacation (going in a couple of weeks), every day will seem like the weekend ... that means, more than a couple of cigars every day for more than a couple of days ...

I resolved that problem by starting to stock up a bit on cigars I like a lot as well as picking up several 'special' cigars to smoke on my b'day, which will fall on one of the days I'm gone ... I'm planning on a bottle of Glenmorangie to go with those, but am undecided between the sherry finish and the port finish ... whacha think, guys?

Go for both on your b-day

My favorite finish now is a real nice Late Harvest Zinfandel. They pick the grapes last and the bottles come out generally in October / November. I get mine in Paso Robles at Grey Wolf or Tobin James. Both vineyards have real good dessert merlots. (and web sites for ordering). Otherwise, if your are sticking to port or sherry, I would lean towards port. I always considered sherry to taste rather oxidized and better for cooking with.

I just recently found cigar bid. I think my costs pre day just went up.. I can now afford to smoke daily 🙂 But seriously I just spent a crapload on 5 packs and samplers to get some variety adn now I'm looking at around $100 that would not have otherwise been spent.. OK so it would have been spent but it wouldn't have been spent today :)

Damon MyMan...ah, yes the money. Usually the big credit card damage happens only once. After you get up on the board you can ride the wave at a more even pace. Soon you'll be surrounded by onesies and twosies and a couple of boxes smuggled in plastic. You are riding one of life's greatest experiences. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. It's a banquet. Help yourself.

Never thought about the cost of my smoking in one day but iffin’ I hadda guess, it was around $50-$60 and at my oldest brother’s gravesite with a nephew or two. I would bring a few super premiums or toro-sized or bigger Cubans to share so anywhere between $15 to $25 each. Those gatherings would also be one of the few times when I would smoke multiple longer cigars.

As far as buying from and then smoking in a lounge or cigar bar, it’s $0. I’ve either been treated or brought my own. Plus, the only place I’ve smoked in is Casa Fuente in Las Vegas. Not too many shpos in Hawaii sell and have a smoking lounge so my choices are very limited.
