My buddy and I both smoked a Drew Estate Natural Egg tonight. Paid $9/stick from the auction. It started out acceptable and led us to believe that we were gonna get our money's worth for these. The flavor changed a couple of times and we were quite impressed. It went downhill from there. A few choice words from my friend were, "unimpressive, poor finish, disappointing, tight draw" I agree in every way. After we reached half-way thru the Egg, the taste was awful. Also, the tar built and made it an impossible draw. This was supposed to be a 2 hour smoke. Well, truth be told, its good up till 45 min, then it decreases. The **** totally hits the fan by an hour and 15 minutes. The only thing the Egg has going for it is the ambiance of the smoke. Its quite impressive seeing the ash fall off and having a cherry that is 1.5 inches in diameter! Taste wise, its a 2-3 dollar cigar, but if its your first time smoking one, it would be worth paying upwards to 5 (again, for the ambiance of the unique smoke) For the first 45 min, I would give this cigar a 7.5/10. By an hour and 15 I'd rate it a 5/10. I'm no professional taster, but take my word for it.

MORE THAN ONE EGG! I'm a just a poor college senior. I had to pass up a few meals to afford just one. Honestly though, if I had an Egg to trade, I'd feel guilty robbing you of those smokes. Thanks for the offer though

i have smoked 3 so far. review:enjoyed them all.

It almost sounds like they were smoked hot. They are pretty broad shoulded, and some of those odd cigars tend to load up.

Since I haven't been able to review this particular dog rocket, I suggest you should bag up any you have and send them to me. I will distrubute them amongst the other members of this forum and we can come to a consensus.

Were you able to smoke them for the full two hours? My biggest complaint was that after an hour and fifteen, or half way thru the Egg, the tar build up was incredible and I could barely get anything through. I like the way it changing flavors initially, but it didn't climax "in the center with a stern, stony, deep complexity."

I am said buddy from this post and wanted to add: although the cigar was a little disappointing, the amount of people impressed by the grossly immense center of the Egg made up a little ground for it. Won't buy again unless I want to see everyone's gaping jaws.

I still think that the EGG was invented to settle a bet that some people will buy anything! LOL!!

Goldengoose, believe me when I tell you that I thought long and hard before buying the Egg. The best thing it has going for it, as my friend Dimmer said, is watching everyone's jaw drop. Truth be told, I'll probably buy a pretzel shaped cigar also. Sorry if that disappoints you.

RE and KA must love this cigar: Lot # 69404. Looks more like an over fed-hampster than an egg. $11 a pop.

Just kidding Scotty,BTW I've got one of these rolling around in one of my humidors.I got it more than a year ago from Slimboli,funny he bought a box of six but sent them all out to friends of his.Fugger didn't even have the guts to smoke one himself! LOL

Actually Jimbo ... I smoked one when I got the box of six, and gifted out the rest, because I thought it was a fun and unusual cigar.

I smoked it out on my deck in the evening ... and my wife said I looked like a coal miner coming out of the mine ... LOL!

She said it looked like I had a flashlight strapped to my head ...
