I know this place is adictive, but comeon. There are some great prices on this board, but some of you seem to just want to win. I just think its funny when I see people fighting to win an auction when your paying a dollar or more per stick then if you just went to the store and bought them. We all need some self-control with that mouse button. Just an observation, please no one take afence.

Well, Cap'n ... it's a well-worn subject you've brought up ... you're pretty much preaching to the choir here ... the overbidders are all too busy overbidding to post many messages ... Goose brought this same subject up about a month ago and it was beat thoroughly to death (and then we beat on the poor dead body) ...

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that store prices vary widely by region ... the taxes here in CA are such that paying a buck a stick more than some store prices looks like a damn fine bargain ...

After two years of bidding here, I finally figured out that if I had saved all the money I spent on impulse bids for cigars I ended up not liking and discarding (Fidalgos, Dark Sharks, etc.) and just bought the cigars I liked from from a e-tailer, I would have been far ahead. Doh!!! More fool me.

I understand the tax issue, since I pay a good 30%, that is why I also buy online. Its just that when I buy thinks at an auction I want to pay less then if I was buying in the store. For instance, I pay 3.15/stick for CAO GOL!'s, so why would I want to pay more then $12 for a 5-pack.

I am confused Captain. If you pay 3.15 each. 3.15 x 5 = 15.75. How is paying $12 for 5 overbidding? Sounds like a $3.00 savings to me.

I agree with Barry that the dead horse link has been beat beyond the dead. We need a new bigger, stronger dead horse to beat.
Maybe if we used smaller sticks it would last longer. Barry
