blkbx01 . . . . . is the Man Of The Day! He read of my friendship with John Cash. Suddenly today at the mailbox was a fantastic RAOK.

Opening the box revealed three CDs - The complete three CD set of The Essential Johnny Cash. Each CD had about 20 songs. The complete set almost represents his life's work.

And . . . . he included a Cuban Cohiba Esplendidos, the real deal, in it's individual box! That's right . . . a Cuban Cohiba! For a cigar smoking Johnny Cash fan, it doesn't get much better than that. I've gone through one CD already, and it brought back some great memories.

Thanks doesn't do it, but Thanks blkbx01, you made my day (on the day Tucker was recovering from his surgery).

Tuckersdad,

Sounds like you may need to start investing in some CD storage. ...

Being a major big time fan of Johnny Cash, I can appreciate that as well....Johnny Cash was American Lore, he was legend, he will always be!

Good bomb my BOTL's

I am going thru some old 33 LPs to see if I can find any old Johnny Wax for you as well!
I know that is not like a CD, but just memorbelia!

Like Johnny sang, "I've been everywhere man...." with Luther Perkins playing the guitar!

We were just an ol' hillbilly band with a plain ol' country style
We never played the kind of songs that'd drive anybody wild
Played a railroad song with a stomping beat
We played a blues song, kinda slow and sweet
But the thing that knocked them off of their feet was, ooh-wee

When Luther played the boogie woogie, Luther played the boogie woogie
Luther played the boogie woogie, Luther played the boogie woogie
Luther played the boogie woogie, Luther played the boogie woogie
Luther played the boogie woogie, Luther played the boogie in the strangest kind of way
Play it strange!

Well, we did our best to entertain everywhere we'd go
We'd nearly wear our fingers off to give the folks a show
Played jumping jive to make 'em get in the groove
We played sad songs, real slow and smooth

Thanks Charlie.

Anything linked to John is welcome. I just re-read "Cash", his second autobiography, and it's pure John, like sitting and talking with him. He was an unusual man, as human and normal as they come, and at the same time a real live legend in the flesh. The book brought back memories of us walking and talking like it was yesterday.
