Looks like the line is in Pittsburg's favor-

Pittsburg -4

Thought it would have gone the other way. Will be a good game.

Got it dd, putting it together. I'm waiting on my cbid shipment so I can add one of my favorites.

I think the Seahawks are going to be ticked of and will show Las Vegas a thing or two. The Steelers were the 6th seed...SIXTH! The Seahawks were the first seed. Yet Vegas, in their infinate stupidity, has the Steelers 3 1/2 point favorites.

You think they were pissed off at all of Steve Who's press? I almost feel sorry for the Steelers.

Drathaar, just goes to show you how much better the AFC is than the NFC if the 6th seed is favored over the one seed. I think Big Ben gets it done this year!

Sorry, ain't buying it. Furthermore, the Steelers were NFC and the Seahawks AFC a few years ago (like 5 or so). The Steelers are going to be sorry they were favored. I might have to change my prediction for a wider point margin.

I'd love to, but as I said in your 'bet' thread, I can't match you. A simple premium 5er I can handle, with an isom even. I'm game if you want to do that.

Contrary to popular opinion, the Vegas line on a football game is NOT a prediction on who is going to win.

It is set so that exactly half of the bets are on one team and half on the other. That way the sportsbooks cannot lose (because of the 10% "vig").

The line is a reflection of the perception (or perhaps "misconceptions"), of the betting public on who is going to win. Not a prediction, although often it works out that way.

Many people have the mistaken idea that because the AFC was a stronger league overall this season, that any AFC team will beat the best NFC team.

The Seahawks, while in a weaker overall league, were the second best team by record in the NFL during the regular season. They also had a much more difficult schedule than the top team (who are now dead) and enter the Super Bowl on a playoff roll with nothing but dominating victories.

The best team in the NFC beats the sixth best in the AFC. No question.
