Hi, I have always enjoyed the aroma of a good cigar. I am thinking about smoking cigars but I would like to know if it is a turn off when a woman smokes them?? Also, any recommendations for the lady?

When I see a good looking woman smoking cigar I think one thing, damn I want her!! I like it when women are not afraid to smoke a cigar. try one out and you'll see that most men agree...

I'll be honest....no, I don't find it attractive. I have no rational for this and certainly don't think less of them as a person, but it's just of those traits or habits that I find lessens a woman's allure.

I should also add that you shouldn't give a damn what I think. If you enjoy good cigars, then by all means, smoke them.

I love it when a woman smokes a cigar. It reminds me of that certain something that just really turns me on.

I really like a nice belly button and if you don't have a nice belly button,sexy/sensual feet will do.I don't have a foot fetish per say so if you don't have sexy/sensual feet I'm OK with that as long as you have strickingly beautiful eyes.If you don't have strickingly beautiful eyes I'm OK with that too as long as you have...Ah what was the question? No I don't care if you smoke cigars as long as you have your own stash. Welcome...JJ

if you go past the adolescent semi-humor. smoke cigars if you like and you don't have to smoke cigar lite, because "women can't really handle strong cigars." try some diffent ones see what pleases you as far as ring guage, length, or strength.

if someone objects because you are a lady, it's a macho thing and should be ignored.

I find it kind of sexy. I think it's because I assume a woman who smokes cigars is somewhat of a risk taker and I find that to be a turn on

If a woman is sexy she is sexy smoking a cigar. If you are enjoying the cigar you are far more likely to look sexy. I've seen quite a few women smoking cigars who are smoking so they look a certain way. Posturing. Posing. I do not find this sexy (men who do this look equally stupid). The women who sit with me and smoke a cigar for the enjoyment of the cigar do tend to be sexier in my book.

As far as choice of cigar, obviously it's your choice. No cigar is more sexy in my book (except that very small cigars that look like cigarettes are not sexy to me).

I've noticed that most women I've smoked with tend to select small cigars. I think this is because they are not attracted to the larger cigars. Also, bigger cigars give a bigger load of nicoteine and therefore are more likely to nauseate a beginning smoker. I think this is also the reason women tend to select lighter bodied cigars.

That being said, I think this is a mistake. Most of the time I have been with women trying their first cigar they have smoked a smaller, cheaper cigar. The predictable result is that they don't like the cigar. Smaller cigars tend to burn hotter and therefore have a nastier taste on the tongue. Cheaper cigars tend to be nastier in general. My suggestion would be to start with a lighter, thicker cigar of sufficient length that you can smoke an inch or two before the midpoint of the cigar (4x45 to 6x50 for example). Stop smokling the cigar when you have had enough, even if you leave more than half the cigar.

Over time your tastes will change and you might move to heavier cigars, and smoke them down to the nub.

I base my suggestions on certain assumptions:

1) An average women is smaller than an average man and therefore any given "dose" of cigar smoke will effect her more.

2) Beginning smokers need to develop not only their tastes but their resistance to the potential side effects of smoking (light-headedness, nausea).

3) If we're talking about developing a lifetime of pleasure from smoking cigars it serves no purpose to give you a bad first experience. Better to have really enjoyable first experiences and give yourself time to evolve your tastes over time.

4) One choice of first cigars might be the Natural line by Drew Estates. Very well made, pleasant taste, pleasant smell. Even the small cigars in this line have a consistantly nice taste so if you are more attracted to small cigars these won't turn you off. I'm sure the other folks on this BB will have many suggestions for good cigars to try.

Glad to have more women enjoying cigars with us.

I've posted on this topic so much, I'm starting to sound repetitious to myself ...

During the boom, some of the local stores here in the Bay Area had "women's nights" ... at first, it absolutely amazed me to see several dozen women spilling out the doors of these stores, herfin' and b-s-in' with one another just the same as men do ... then, as I began to get used to the idea, it began to die down as the boom faded ...

I still see a lot of women smoking cigars ... in a conversation I had with him a couple of weeks ago, the owner of one of my favorite local stores told me that approximately 30% of his business comes from women ... and, while quite a few are buying for the guys in their lives, a high percentage of them are buying for themselves ...

But, beyond the number of female cigar smokers, what I find to be consistantly surprising is the high percentage of very attractive female cigar smokers ...

I've commented on this several times but I continue to notice and be perplexed by what strikes me as a phenomenon ...

particularly in the "burbs" here, I seldom go into a local store without seeing one or more women among the customers ... what I find continually surprising is that the ratio of their being very attractive is, IMO, much higher than in the population as a whole ...

I have no explanation for this, but have observed it to be a pretty constant truth ... so, Smokin' Girl, if you're still reading these responses, that's mine and I'm sticking with it ... no, it's not at all a turn-off ... and I would recommend to you the same as I would to a guy who asked ... start with a not-too-large, generally mild cigar ... smoke different ones and as you go, smoke larger and smaller ones, medium- and then more full-bodied ones ... if necessary, take notes, but remember what you like and equally important, what you don't ... my guess is that you'll probably settle in with some medium-sized, medium-bodied preferences that will then gradually increase to a larger and somewhat more full-bodied preference and that's ok ... it's fairly typical ...

Don't allow the staring of strangers to put you off ... they're just not used to seeing women smoking cigars ... and don't let the waving of hands under noses put you off either ... that happens to all of us ... stand up straight, head high and chest out, take a puff, exhale and smile ...

You've asked for "guys" opinions on if it's a turn off, but in my female opinion, it's just like everything else. You can't please all of the people all of the time.

Personally, you shouldn't CARE about it. Just do it if it makes you happy. That's gotta be one of the biggest turn on for any sex...seeing a person completely happy being who they are and feeling confident, don't you think?

Since your main concern is if smoking a cigar turns a guy off, you've got a lot of learning to do! I wouldn't worry yourself with it! You want people around you that are into what YOU are into...bottom line! Make yourself happy and the rest will fall into place! 🙂

And BTW, welcome to the site Smokin'...a word of advice from another girl, never censor what you have to say here or your opinions. Just because there are several arrogant jerks that flourish here (that will become apparent after you read their posts) and try to manipulate you, doesn't mean that your input is in any way not welcomed by the majority. I receive emails daily on the subject. Just wish EVERYONE was man enough to back it up!

I've learned a lot here and hope you do too!

Enjoy!

E-Chick:

I find it interesting that you feel comefortable telling someone else that they shouldn't care about being attractive to men.

First, the topic was not "should I care if men find me attractive?" You've interjected your own issues and concerns and in the process belittled another person.

If you take a look at human physiology and human behavior we are all about "being attractive". Some of us are less attractive which may give us concern, but none the less the premacy of human attractiveness and sexuality is true.

You may wish this was not true, or may take a political stand that this should not (in a judgemental way) be true, but you should not ignore that the vast majority of people are at least on some level concerned with being attractive.

Besides being unhelpful and impractical your comments run the risk of being hurtful. At the least your comments are pejorative.

My experience is that a woman (or man) can be both concerned with how they are perceived and not base their sense of self-worth on another's opinion.

Keep telling yourself that, and maybe someday you will really believe it ... go ahead ... construe in your mind what ever it takes to make you feel better.
